January 28, 200818 yr Well I guess it's only fair that if we are going to have Kentucky threads regarding the end of the world or Final Four plans. We should do the same on Minnesota. Fact is, they have lost to 3 teams that are flat out better than them right now. Would have been nice to see them beat Michigan St or Indiana at home, just didn't happen. So of their 4 losses in the Big Ten, two have been to Michigan St, Indiana and now Ohio St. They still have two games with Wisconsin that they will likely lose. BUT they also play Illinois, Iowa and two against Northwestern. Still a good chance for them to finish near 500 in conference. So it basically might come down to them winning a game or two in the Big 10 tournament to get into the big dance. It's been mentioned before, this team only won 9 games this year and they are on their way to winning 20 this year. They may not beat any big teams this year, but they are beating the teams they are supposed to beat. :thumb: Good Post. I don't believe that anyone has ever said that Minnesota was going to be great this season, only that they have a great coach . From 9 wins all of last season to the way they are competing and winning this season says all that needs be said. I realy thought that this type of thread would have surfaced sooner on here. I a fine with it though, if some of us point out the good with Minnesota and their coaching staff we have to expect some opposite views/cuts as well. :thumb:. I personally didn't think that the Gopohers would be in the NCAA this season, I am hoping for the N.I.T. this year. IMO the N.I.T. for this team would be a very nice accomplishment. No one said that Tubby was going to "Build Minnesota Basketball in a day", all that I and others have said is that "He WILL build Minnesota Basketball to a very respectable level". GO GOPHERS!! GO, Tubby and Saul Smith!!
January 28, 200818 yr There's only one way to settle this....Jenga!!!! Drinking Jenga is quite possibly the greatest game of ALL TIME
January 28, 200818 yr The funny thing is, all you guys that are saying UK is better than Minnesota have yet to provide one legit reason or statistic as to how they're better. All you've given are opinions..... When the two do not play then opinions are all that can be made . I looked over both schedules and couldn't find anywhere where these two play each other this season . So, what we have here is another 'what if" thread/questions and opinions are the only thing that one can give. How can anything be proven if there is no game? Answer: Nothing can be proven as to who is better...Minnesota or U.K, then it goes back to opinions. I'll give you credit for stirring some up though.:thumb:
January 28, 200818 yr I heard it was a bit boring at times. I didn't say I was bored, I said your presence was missed... There's nothing to read between those lines.
January 28, 200818 yr Deuce, your presence was missed... I don't know about that.... more like his absence was noticed.

January 28, 200818 yr Minnesota will bounce back when they are not playing good teams. I did not mean for that to sound bad. One thing I will throw out just to rile people up is: UK lost BAD to an Indiana team WITHOUT Gordon. UMINN had a close game with Indiana WITH Gordon.
January 28, 200818 yr As much as like the CATS top 6 players. I DO NOT think they could match up with any team in the country! NO WAY!
January 28, 200818 yr As much as like the CATS top 6 players. I DO NOT think they could match up with any team in the country! NO WAY! Try explaining that to Tennessee.
