January 29, 200818 yr So now we are saying Tubby was able to leave players behind that are good enough to compete with the best teams in the country.Things are always changing here on BGP... :thumb::lol::lol::sssh:
January 29, 200818 yr The teams are not that far a part talent wise, I can assure any of you of that! I do not think that Minnesota's top 6 are as good as UK's top 6. The rest of the roster I would say would be up for grabs. I'm confused.
January 29, 200818 yr Minnesota beat UT? When? Union Tech in Boone County. It went down to the wire. Tuxedo senior Jason Nollman just missed a game winning three at the buzzer.
January 29, 200818 yr The top 6 players on UK's roster according to posters on here are: Bradley, Crawford, Meeks, Jasper, Patterson, and Stevenson--and I agree. I do not think that Minnesota's top 6 are as good as UK's top 6. The rest of the roster I would say would be up for grabs. As far as playing a game, I think the game would be extremely close because both teams are similar. There is no DOUBT that UK is better when a healthy Jasper and Meeks are playing. Those two guys were top-35 recruits and they can ball. Just because we beat Tennessee and they were 5th in the country at the time does not mean we can match up w/any team in the nation top-6 against top-6. I'm assuming you mean UK when you say "we". If so, we faired pretty well against North Carolina - and that was with injuries and a team that was still playing horrible basektball :thumb:
January 29, 200818 yr If UK and UM both go to the NIT, you just watch and see if the committee doesn't try and pair these two Teams.
January 29, 200818 yr If UK and UM both go to the NIT, you just watch and see if the committee doesn't try and pair these two Teams. I think the same would happen if they both go the NCAA, as well. :thumb:
January 29, 200818 yr UK has beaten two ranked teams (including the #1 team in the RPI, which you are having so much fun citing). When was the last time Minnesota (or Tubby) did that? That legit enough? The GW and USD games are almost irrelevant at this point and you know that. Meeks and Jasper are back, the team has started to learn BCG's system, and they're playing infinitely better than the start of the season. In March they won't be, but both teams fully healthy I honestly think it would be a coin flip, though I believe that PP would be the difference.
January 29, 200818 yr In March they won't be, but both teams fully healthy I honestly think it would be a coin flip, though I believe that PP would be the difference. Certainly for the NCAA they matter, but as far as being indicitive of how good UK is NOW (and how they'd matchup vs Minnesota), they don't mean much.
January 29, 200818 yr Minnesota will bounce back when they are not playing good teams. I did not mean for that to sound bad. One thing I will throw out just to rile people up is: UK lost BAD to an Indiana team WITHOUT Gordon. UMINN had a close game with Indiana WITH Gordon. Jordan Crawford took up the slack against Kentucky. He wouldn't have had all those shots had Gordon played. Some of UK's were still resisting also. Not making excuses, Kentucky played bad that day.
January 29, 200818 yr If UK and UM both go to the NIT, you just watch and see if the committee doesn't try and pair these two Teams. I think that would almost be sure to happen if both were in it. They would imo most definately be in the same bracket.
January 29, 200818 yr :laugh::laugh: Now that's how you take some good natured ribbing. Good for The Deuce!
