Mr. Basketball Predictions

Featured Replies

To everyone on here that's saying Miller SHOULD win the award SOLELY bc he signed with UK, is completely wrong, for one Mack signed with Butler (currently a top 20 team in the nation) and Hopson has been offered by UK, and could go just about anywhere he wants next year. I think he will wait til the last minute to decide just bc he seems pretty cocky and prob wants all of the media attention. But you can't make your decision on what school the kid is going to play ball at next year.

Hospon says all the right things, basically that he'll be in Starkville next year. All the media reports tend to tell a different story. I don't know who to believe.

He withdrew his commitment, I don't think he will end up at Miss State, he probably thinks he's better than them now, considering he was only a 3 star recruit when he committed to them.

I love D. Miller and am a hugh Royal fan,But right now if the season ended i think Mack should win it.

I agree, would love someone form the 10th region to get it, but also feel like you on Mack deserving it if the season ended now. We will just have to see who wins the 11th region....I feel that could make a huge difference.

Mack is averaging near a triple-double for Station who hasn't lost a game since @ Mason in game 1 of the season...and in that game Miller didn't outshine Mack by any means. My vote is for Mack.

Mack is having a better statistical season. He also has to do more for his team than Miller does. Miller will get it because he is going to UK.

They look like a good team to me. :thumb:

Ranked #1 or in the top 3 isn't bad IMO.

I didn't say they weren't good, I said they could be better and last time I looked they had 3 losses so I would say they could get better.

I have saw Miller play twice this year and he LOOKS like Mr. Basketball to me.

I have saw Miller play twice this year and he LOOKS like Mr. Basketball to me.

And that means you have not seen Mack and Hopson.

I saw Miller and Mack in the BS-MC game. Miller and Mack played to a standstill; MC's supporting cast was better. I didn't get to see the UHA-MC scrimmage, but the report was that Miller scored 41 and Hopson 17 in that pre-season matchup.

I'm thinking it's between Miller and Mack right now.

Does anyone know when the voting takes place? Right now Mack is putting up better statistical numbers; if he leads Bryan Station to the Sweet 16 out of the brutal 11th he has to get real strong consideration. If Miller happens to lead Mason County to Rupp and if Station makes an early district/regional exit, advantage Miller. IF the voting takes place after the end of the regional tourneys.

Look, I'm as big of a UK fan as any one on here, but as I said before, you can't judge a high school award based on where a kid is going to play college ball, it's about right now. Another question I have is why is everyone in such aw that Miller is going to UK when Mack signed with #15 Butler and Hopson is being recruited by Texas, Miss State, Louisville, Cincy, Tennesse, and UK. Hopson could likely go to any school in the country if he wanted, considering that he's the #9 recruit on Rivals and the #8 recruit on ESPN.

IMO Darius and Mack are a lot better team players than Hopson. Hopson is somewhat of a ball hog and lazy on defense. I think Hopson has the most talent but just needs to get his attitude together. Considering everything said I would most likely give Miller my vote.

What about Ferguson from Elliott....

He is not a senior. This award is for the best senior player. No offense, but if he was a senior, he is not even close to Miller, Hopson, and others.

Darius Miller has the edge because of his commitment to UK. Hopson and Mack are fantastic players, maybe even better than Miller, but Mississippi State and Butler recruits don't usually win this award.

Could not have said it better myself.

I think UK has missed out on Shelvin Mack. If Gillespie wants tough ballplayers, Mack is his guy. They don't come any tougher than this kid. He handles the ball great, is long and plays great defense, can rebound, and his outside shot has really improved.
