January 21, 200818 yr I believe that the Colts had a remarkable season. Here are the reasons why: 1. Being champs, you are going to get everyone's best game, that includes the patriots. 2. They play in the hardest division in the NFL and won it. 3. They play in the hardest conference and finished second (regular season) 4. They were injury riddled most of the season and over came it. As for the would of should of thing about last year's super bowl, whatever, if my aunt had .... she would be my uncle. I believe that you could do it if every team for an example, if the catch didn't happen do we ever hear of Montana, or the drive by the Bronco's, do we hear of Elway? Mr. Schue, your hatred is impressive, but here is one fact that you must admit is great in the last 6 years, Dungy who is the coach of the Colts, has the second best winning percentage ever. 760%, the only one greater George S. of the 49ers. Not bad!
January 21, 200818 yr Author Dungy's record is indeed impressive, but the way he's been anointed a saint by everyone in the media doesn't sit too well with me.
January 21, 200818 yr Dungy's record is indeed impressive, but the way he's been anointed a saint by everyone in the media doesn't sit too well with me. I know that it is weird when someone stands up for one's faith, but he is one that does and by all accounts backs his beliefs up, and if those beliefs are like those of Mother Theresa so be it.
January 21, 200818 yr Jim you have your opinion and I respect it but I 100% disagree with you on this one. You don't back your way into the Super Bowl. The Colts beat a very good Baltimore team and they knocked off the team that nobody can knock off in the playoffs in New England. The Super Bowl is just that. You don't get there by not having a great ballclub. I would argue with you that the Giants might not even be a top 5 team but they are a very solid team that is hot at the right time. I think the Colts, Chargers, Cowboys, Packers, Jags have at least as much talent as them. That doesn't matter though the Giants earned their way in. The Colts had one heck of a team when they won it. You honestly want to tell me that Manning, Wayne, Harrison, Clark, Rhodes/Addai don't create some amazing mactchup problems? The Colts have the defensive player of the year in Sanders and probably the best pass rusher in the game the year they won it all! What else do you want? People forget this about the Chargers... they won 14 games last year and lost nobody with value off that club. They instead add a Chris Chambers. It's not like they are lacking in talent. Del Rio said they were the second most talented team in the NFL behind the Pats! The Colts also lost without Harrison, Freeney, Sanders full health, Wayne full health, Addai! Take that talent off any team and it's going to effect them. It's like taking Ward, Palamolu, Smith and Parker off the Steelers! I could easily say the Steelers championship was a fluke that Seattle blew it. You can almost always find arguements in the NFL. The Colts were 100% legit IMO. They've been winning year in and year out. If the Pats weren't in the zone they are in then it's hard telling how many the Colts might have won. The Jags are legit and are a WR or two away + getting healthy from being bigtime. The Titans have maybe the best 1-2 punch in the league with Haynesworth and Van Dan Bosch. Young still has a ways to go and they have to get him talent around him. Fischer is as good as it gets too IMO.
January 21, 200818 yr If you don't like Dungy I can't help you on that one. He's as solid as they come!
January 21, 200818 yr Dungy's record is indeed impressive, but the way he's been anointed a saint by everyone in the media doesn't sit too well with me. :thumb: I agree, I dont really like the guy at all.
January 21, 200818 yr :thumb: I agree, I dont really like the guy at all. Atleast he is better class act then Belacheat!
January 21, 200818 yr  Atleast he is better class act then Belacheat! Ironic, eh? You can dislike Dungy if you'd like but you've got to at least respect what he's done.
January 22, 200818 yr Why all this hatred for the Mannings on BGP? I really don't get it. Not a fan of the Colts or the Giants but I like Peyton (good guy, funny commercials, great QB) and Eli has pulled a 180 for me during this playoff run. I don't get it.

January 22, 200818 yr Sometimes I wonder if Jim is one of my best friends. It's scary how their taste in music, always being right, finding a way to rain on a parade and love for the Steelers are exactly alike. That's good and bad Jim. For the record I'd go to the grave for my buddy and he would do the same for me so we grew on each other.
January 22, 200818 yr It wasn't a fluke. The Colt's had a very tough team last season. Manning played well, but he didn't carry them all the way to that big nice trophy. Everyone played nice for the Colt's, and that got them their SB. I don't think it was a fluke..
January 22, 200818 yr Actually, I recall that thread met with a bunch of nods of the head from agreeable Bengals fans. Whether you agree with me that it's a fluke or not, you have to admit the Colts pulled a pretty big gag job this year. As did the Steelers, Cowboys, and Packers, all at home. So I guess Roethlisberger, Romo, and Favre suck.
