Eli's in the super bowl, Peyton isn't.

 

Why do we have to compare stats? Do stats matter if you lead your team to a super bowl?

 

Stats aren't everything. I've stated clearly that I do not think Eli is better than Peyton, so I don't need to lay off any "kool aid". I don't know why that comment was necessary.

 

About stats, Phil Simms didn't have great stats early in his career either. Neither did Terry Bradshaw. But neither of them made a super bowl this early in their careers either.

 

Who cares about Phil Simms or any other QB that started there carear 20+ years ago, its not the same league it was then. In Eli's failures its the teams fault, in is his success its where he "lead" them. IMO Lorenzon wouldnt have thrown 20 ints AND had 13 fumbles, but we will let you think E'ore is the best. Peyton Easily. The AFC is way harder to get to the super bowl then the NFC.

You can paint the picture however you'd like, but the fact is, they were winning games because of their defense and Eli's contribution was a lot of interceptions and fumbles lost. He has played a little better lately, but he has been a low- to mid-tier QB during his career thus far.

 

Once again, many of Eli's bad performances came in bad weather.

 

He fumbled 5 times in terrible weather vs Buffalo. He had one TERRIBLE game against the Vikings where he threw 4 interceptions. He has never played well vs the Vikings.

 

He had two really bad games this year. One in Miami where the weather was not so good (field was terrible) and one against Minnesota (no excuses there, just played bad). Other than that, he didn't have any terrible games.

 

Like I said earlier, Trent Dilfer (who does in depth analysis on NFLN) said that out of Eli's 20 INTS, 7 were on him. The rest were due to WR's mistakes. And also the Giants WR's led the league in drops, which killed Eli's passer rating.

And ZERO in the playoffs. Thanks for failing to mention that though. Also if you had watched Trent Dilfers analysis on Eli, he said of the 20 interceptions, 7 were on Eli. The rest were on the WR's.

I assume you simply chose not to read the part where I said Eli is not better than Peyton.

 

Eli has played bad from time to time this year.

 

You like to point out just the bad and not notice the good. He's played very well for the past 4 weeks and it should be acknowledged. He's only been a starter for THREE years. It takes time for guys to be good at being an NFL quarterback.

 

I've heard enough about JLo. I'm a big fan of his. I enjoyed watching him play for Kentucky and I'm glad he's a Giant. But what has he done to prove he'd be any better? The Giants would have been CRAZY to bench Eli this year and he's proving that right now. The "Giants should start JLo" stuff is just plain crazy.

First of all, Minnesota...and the Vikings...are the same team. That would be 3 horrific games.

 

Secondly he had more than 2 good games. He played very well against the Cowboys, Jets, Falcons (i was in attendance at this one), Detroit, Philly, and New England. That is 6 good games, 3 average games, and 3 horrific games IMO. No, he's not Tom or Peyton. I NEVER said he was. But not many QB's are.

Have you even watched his analysis? They are very good (and I'm not just talking about the ones he does for the Giants.) Before making a silly comment about him maybe you should watch him a little.

 

I'd also think that an NFL starter and a Super Bowl champion would know a lot more than us BGP'ers.

Eli has been in the NFL for a short time and has already led his team to a Superbowl...

Would have been hard for Losman to have 5 fumbles considering he didn't play.

 

Trent Edwards was 9/26 161 yards, 2 TD and 3 INT. His two TD's came before the weather got bad. After those TD's, he threw something like 15 straight incomplete passes.
