January 18, 200818 yr So with a 2 month litmus test, that makes him the worst coach in Major D1 hoops? Exactly. If this happens for 5 years, then we can talk about it, but not after one season of non-conference play.

January 18, 200818 yr Author Brady is a good recruiter, but as a game coach, I think he is pretty bad. LSU boosters are good recruiters... :sssh: :walk:
January 18, 200818 yr John Brady takes the cake, how much pull does that Final 4 of his give him around LSU? He is pretty bad. My top 5 worst: 1. Tommy Amaker 2. John Brady 3. Dave Odom 4. Dennis Felton (Sorry guys, he has proven to be a bad D-1 A coach, but he was great at WKU) 5. Paul Hewitt (Underachiever)

January 18, 200818 yr LSU boosters are good recruiters... :sssh: :walk: So, are you saying that he can't recruit as well as can't coach?
January 18, 200818 yr Author So, are you saying that he can't recruit as well as can't coach? I can't deny that he does recruit at a level much higher than he coaches. Still isn't saying much...
January 18, 200818 yr Give me a break. You can't throw a coach on the worst coaches in DI list because of a tough 6-week period that has been impacted by significant injuries. He had more than 6 weeks to prepare for this season. Injuries are part of the game, and re-injuries are sometimes the result of rushing players back into action too quickly. No doubt Gillespie would be winning with great talent. That is not the measuring stick for great coaching. Great coaches find a way to win with the cards they are dealt. Gillespie has been a big disappointment in that area. Gillespie reminds me a bit of Jerry Tarkanian, who flamed out in a hurry after taking over the San Antonio Spurs. Tarkanian was a great recruiter but was finally exposed as a not-so-great coach who needed superior talent to compete. I hope that UK has not hired this generation's Tark.
