Digger Phelps said two weeks ago that it was time for Ramel and Joe to do what Billy G. wants and step up and be leaders and make something of the second half of the season. He said the jersey with the name Kentucky means something to this state and it was time for them to step up and take charge as Seniors. I beleive that Donna's health was suffering from all of the constant bashing, Tubby is family first and I can only imagine what all she had heard sitting watching the games and even when she went out anywhere. A small pct. of U.K. fans put a HUGE black eye on the fan base. The way that some treated Tubby and his family while he was here was an absolute embarrassment :mad:. They can deny it all they want but for the ones like that I will, say that OTS and family has/had more class in their little finger than all of "those types" will ever hope to have. A friend of mine sees them practice pretty often and he said things are looking alot more positive this past week than they have all season. This team is finally coming around.

January 18, 200818 yr A lot of that was due to Minnesota's defense. JMO Also, I believe that I.U. had more talent and was flat outcoached in this one. JMO IMO the two quick fouls, on the IU star and the hound dog attitude he seemed to go into, had as much to do with the game being close as IU being outcoached. Just watching this game I felt like Tubby came into more basketball talent than he left in Lexington. IU tried to give them the game but they just didn't take it.

Interesting that watching interviews with Minnesota players on the Big 10 network, they say the same thing about Tubby's practices. They say his style is a lot more demanding and they had to get used to that. They also included that there was a lot more teaching going on in Tubby's practices than they were used to. Maybe, just maybe, it was the PLAYERS and not the coach. That's a novel idea.

Have you not paid any attention to all the people saying Tubby left behind crappy players? Its only novel when you're trying to use it to defend him. He recruited them, so it doesn't matter if he couldn't coach them, or they just can't play, its his fault. P.S. Please dont say "it was the McD's AA's that were the downfall, and that was the fans' fault because that's what they wanted." Thats a stupid argument.
January 18, 200818 yr You got your wish and Tubby is gone, why the need to drag him down? Is it not enough that he is no longer UK's coach? Do you want him to never coach anywhere else again? Does it bother you that much that he is winning somewhere else? If you don't like Tubby and don't want to root for Tubby fine, don't read about Tubby or get into threads that are about Tubby. If his success somewhere else is that disconcerting to you, I recommend you completely remove him from your life and not go into threads about him. And for the record, UM lost to IU WITH GORDON by 5 points. WITHOUT Gordon, how many did UK lose to IU by? I said he was a good coach. But he was tearing down UK program.

As I said before we all are trying to move on past this, because we can argue back and forth about this forever like we all have on here for the last few years. It really is pointless. But since you did want to go there, and bring this up in a Minnesota thread, I will reply. I mean have they beat any big name teams this year? No they have not. Have they won games, that they probably shouldn't have this year, yes they have. I mean since they lost to alot of these same teams they lost to last year, then that kind of shows that maybe they weren't suppose to win them this year. And well since you want to bring UK into this. UK did lose to TWO HORRIBLE TEAMS this year, and we just didn't lose a close game on a heart breaking shot to those two teams. We pretty much were dominated all game by those teams. Yes injuries hurt us, however we still had PLENTY of enough talent to win those games, and still more talent that what Tubby has at Minnesota. Yet he has won all those games unlike us. Also we at UK got killed by IU and they were without their best player. Minnesota though only lost by 5 to them and Gordon was playing. Minnesota was even winning with 1:30 to go in the game. Then had a shot to tie it with 10 seconds to go that they had a great look at but just missed. I just wish we could have had a chance to win it at the end like they did. So I mean you really dont want to have this argument at all... Also you know what Tubby and Minnesota doesn't even have to be a top ranked team all year, but as long as they keep winning and beating everyone else. Then this year would have been a GREAT year for the team. I mean they have a great chance to get to 20 wins this year, which is a huge improvement over winning just 9 games last year. So seriously you attempts to still bash Tubby is getting old and kind of weak now. As I said before, it would be best to just stop talking about this, there is no reason to even talk about it even more. Because there is always going to be an argument back to it, just like I just proved... But it ok for people to come on here and bash BCG. You making the rules on here now?
January 18, 200818 yr I sure would hope we would be able to beat Minnesota by 10+ by then, because we have a lot more talent than they do on that roster. Its a shame actually to even have to say that if we played right now though, Minnesota might win. KY has 3 true SEC players helathy right now. Get some knowledge.
