I can't wait another second to see this movie. Anyone else going on opening night?

I will be going this weekend, goodness willing. I haven't been to a movie theatre in over 7 months. For a variety of reasons, but mainly because there just haven't been many good movies recently.

I won't reveal any spoilers here, since I have read up on the entire film and so forth. BUT I can say that this film sounds like it's going to live up to the hype, which in this day and age is almost impossible.

I had to read about how the film begins and ends and if everything plays out the way it's been described, it sounds just awesome. :thumb:

I have kept up with many many updates and info on this movie. I hope it doesn't turn into a Godzilla type movie because it's been done. I hope it lives up to the hype, and I have seen many of the clips and it looks really interesting but if the clipart I seen is what they have as the "monster" or whatever it is then I guarantee almost everyone will be disappointed. I hope I am wrong. I want to see it though!

I'm drawing a blank...

Could somebody give me a brief description?

Here is the plot summary: Five young New Yorkers throw their friend a going-away party the night that a monster the size of a skyscraper descends upon the city. Told from the point of view of their video camera, the film is a document of their attempt to survive the most surreal, horrifying event of their lives.

Here is a link for clips, cast, trailer, etc...

I searched for "Cloverfield Monster" on Google images and some pretty interesting looking things came up.

I'm definitely going this weekend...

I am going. I don't know about the Blair Witch thing, sounds like we will be watching a shaking camera for an hour and a half again.

Thanks for the link SvFan. Looks interesting.

Sounds like Blair Witch+ Godzilla, not particularly interested myself.

I hope it doesn't turn out like the pictures in Google....a "walking whale?" The idea of the movie seems solid enough if you can get past the monster.

I can't wait either. I've been looking forward forever, I think the shaking camera will be good.

Like Jumper Dad said. I also looked at google, and if the monster is what some peopled said it is (a giant whale with legs) then this movie will go down as one of the biggest disappointments of all time.

I like this idea though...What if they don't fully show the monster? I mean only show glimpses of him running away or turning a corner, or maybe even just a shadow. It keeps us engaged on wondering if and when we'll see it.

I just saw a commercial for the movie and now that I know what to look for I did see the flipper/legs in the background, look unfortunately like this is going to be the monster.

^ that looks a bit odd. Looks like someone has been dumping radioactive waste into the ocean.
