January 19, 200818 yr Anyone who knew anything about the movie knew it was shot with a hand held camera like Blair Witch. It had a plot and a good ending IMO. An odd ending, but a good one. It wasn't just me. Let's just say the crowd was a bit hostile at the end. I didn't hear anyone (which surprised me) that liked the movie. BTW, I knew about the format.
January 19, 200818 yr For those of you who saw it, did you stay to watch the credits? There is something hidden at the end and if you listen in reverse you will hear... SPOILER IN WHITE BELOW If you stay and listen to the credits you hear some stuff that you can't understand. But if you play it in reverse (obviously when you get home and find a file that can be reversed) you hear someone whisper "It's still alive". How the heck did you know that?!?!?!?!?!??!?
January 19, 200818 yr Just got back. My wife and I saw it and loved it. I like to new take on the tried and true giant monster genre. BTW I'm a huge Godzilla fan and this was great.
January 19, 200818 yr I am surprised to say I really liked this..... I wasn't expecting too much. A ton of action, a nice love story, drama, comedy from the camera man. Good movie, especially with no headlining actors.

January 19, 200818 yr If you don't mind me asking what was the age range of the crowd you were in? Lots of teens. Our group was 24-49.
January 19, 200818 yr Lots of teens. Our group was 24-49. So far its scored 8.3 on IMDB.com and 78% on rotten tomatoes which is the harshest movie review website out there. I don't know how familiar you are with it but a 78% is phenominal. They gave American Gangster a 79%. I was with mostly teens and college kids myself. I am in the just out of college crowd and I sensed everyone liked it. The reason I asked is because I don't see a ton of people over 30 liking it due to the vertigo and far fetched concept.
January 19, 200818 yr I went to the midnight showing last night at AMC On The Levee in Newport and was kind of disappointed since it had a lot of build-up. Maybe when they come out with more in the series it'll make since. I am assuming that more will be made since the guy that does the TV series Lost did this one. Some friends of mine that I went to see it with were royally peeved because they had been watching the Cloverfield internet site everyday because apparently they were "leaking" information about the movie and my friends said that what was in the movie had nothing to do with the information they had watched.
January 19, 200818 yr The reason I asked is because I don't see a ton of people over 30 liking it due to the vertigo and far fetched concept. This is another reason why I wasn't to fond of the movie. I didn't feel good throughout th movie because of the the shaking the camera did since it was supposed to be filmed with the handheld.
January 19, 200818 yr This is another reason why I wasn't to fond of the movie. I didn't feel good throughout th movie because of the the shaking the camera did since it was supposed to be filmed with the handheld. Were you aware of the shaking camera? Blair Witch prepared me for it. If you haven't been through that kinda movie or just don't like those I can see why it wouldn't stand a chance in your book.
January 19, 200818 yr I was aware of it but didn't expect that much of it. it also didn't help that I force fed myself the large popcorn that I had so the other I was with could get the free refill....lol. I got a free large popcorn and large fountain drink because I've got a MovieWatchers Card and on every 15 movies you watch, you get either the deal I mentioned above or another free movie. I chose the popcorn and pop deal because together it costs right around $10 or so and a ticket costs less like $7 or $8 for a student ticket.
January 19, 200818 yr Author Spoiler in White below Also you could see something hit the ocean when it showed the end of the film that he had left in the camara before the party....I guess that it when it arrived. It is on the right side of the screen and splashes down in the water Man I want to see this movie again sooo bad cause I want to look for that part.
January 19, 200818 yr Man I want to see this movie again sooo bad cause I want to look for that part. I was not real clear on that but it is at the end of th movie, when they are visiting Coney Island.
January 19, 200818 yr Appopriate for a 11 year old boy? Depends on what you let him watch. There is some S-word and stuff and a little graphic violence (blood etc.). And some very mild sexual content.
