January 15, 200818 yr I believe, he can certainly make a 1st/2nd team, if he continues at this level. Do we have a thread, on an "All Freshman" team, 1st/2nd yet? None of the ones I've started about the young pups were directed at a specific All Frosh team... :thumb:
January 15, 200818 yr Is he the best Frosh in the SEC? I know Nick dont know how to spell his last name is very good from Florida. Oglivy is pretty tough.. Patterson is a pretty good player. I like watching him play. If he stays at UK, they will be set for the next couple of seasons..
January 15, 200818 yr He should be consider for SEC player of the year IMO Foster should be player of the year, IMO...
January 15, 200818 yr I think if UK was winning he would be getting a lot of pub. Why do you want him to be the center of attention on a national stage? So he jump the league after this season? He is not a top 5 freshman either. Probably not top 10 but he has played great no doubt about it. I hope he continues to get no attention, in fact I hope they don't recognize him again until his senior year, that way he won't jump to the NBA.
January 15, 200818 yr Why would he not have those numbers (or at least comparable numbers)? He would get playing time, even at those schools. PLUS, he would not be the center of attention for defenses and may even play a little more unencumbered.

PLUS, he would not be the center of attention for defenses and may even play a little more unencumbered. If Patterson was at Memphis, he would not be averaging around 18 points a game. He wouldn't get near 18 a game if he was at Carolina either...

Those teams all have a ton of talent, and multiple great options to score the ball. Fewer minutes and shots equals lower production...

January 15, 200818 yr IF PP was at NC or Memphis, he would be a household name with his numbers, especially rebounds. If he was at UNC, he would not be a starter...
January 15, 200818 yr If he was at UNC, he would not be a starter... Nope. He would be UNC's 3rd big man... If PP was at UNC, he would get around, 6-10 points a game, MAYBE. The same at Memphis...
January 15, 200818 yr Usually ESPN talks about the good teams and the good players on that team, which means this year UK and Patterson arent going to get talked about alot.
January 15, 200818 yr Good thing he isn't at UNC then, right? He is at UK where he chose to be based on what fit him the best. Seems to me he made a very wise decision! One of the best seasons for a freshman in the nation!
January 15, 200818 yr After watching ESPN and Sportscenter I never hear anyone talk about Patrick Patterson. This guy is a great player and he is the leader of UK he never gets the credit he deserves. None of the College Basketball guys ever talk about him as one of the best freshmen in the country. This guy is one of the top 5 fresmen in the land. He's his stats: PPG 17.8 Reb 8.4 What do you guys think? I agree, imo U.K.'s record/slow start may have a lot to do with it. He definately is one of the best freshmen in the country.
