I think they moved Ammons to another position, which is shocking to me.

I may be wrong, but I think more of Coach Dameron then for him to do that. Scott was not on a scholarship, because they did not have scholarships last season. Scott was very adamant about wanting to play at a bigger school, I as pretty sure that Coach Dameron knew this well a head of time. I am, also pretty sure, that everyone involved knew this was going to happen.

 

I may be wrong, and it may have not happened this way, but that is what I have understood from day one.

 

It is my understanding that beginning next season (08) KCU will play NAIA football and will compete in the Mid-South Conference. This is the same conference as Georgetown so it would appear that the reason for transfer may be something different.

It has also been brought to my attention that many other players have transfered from KCU.

As mentioned earlier by another poster,last years starting QB has also left along with their leading receiver from last year who has moved on to Morehead and another former Raceland player may be going to Thomas More.

 

Grizz is a great young man and a very good QB whom I think would have also had success at the college level as a baseball player.(pitcher)

I believe that one reason that I have heard may be that KCU doesn't offer a wide variety of majors / areas of study other than teaching or going into the Ministry. Also, I think that some kids may have not been aware of how a Christian University operates as far as there are curfews and other rules and regulations, classes that are mandatory that are not at other universities. These are just some of my ideas and I have not talked to Scott or anyone else there so I don't know the reasons for him and others for sure.

Whatever the reasons are I hope that Scott (and others) have made the right decisions for and for the them and for the right reasons.

I wish Scott Grizzle nothing but the best in first of all his education and his athletic/football future.

 

(Maybe he just couldn't get used to not wearing the Orange and Black anymore and had to get back to it , for a Raceland boy to all of a sudden wear Red and Black is a shock that may be way too much stress to handle).....:lol:

Scott Grizzle transferring was a complete surprise to the folks here at KCU. He was splitting time and probably didn't like that, but neither QB stepped up and took the spot. The other QB had academic troubles, and most transfers were young men that recruited KCU, not players KCU recruited.

 

There are also 8 additions this spring, transfers from Morehead State, West Virginia State and a few players who didn't play this past fall, but were recruited by the staff last winter. KCU has some good commitments thus far and have hosted numerous young men on campus since the last game in October.

So the QB this year will be new and not familiar with KCU's system at all ???

That's not entirely true. KCU offers a wide variety of majors including Nursing which was Grizzle's major. KCU and Kings Daughters partnered to build that fantastic medical facility in Grayson that opened last year. KCU also has a totally online RN bridge program now for Nurses with Associates Degrees that they want to turn into Bachelor's Degrees. You can get a degree from KCU in anything from Business to Education in addition to degrees in Ministry. However all of KCU's programs require a certain core of bible courses (18 hours I think).

 

I do wish Scott the best at Georgetown. Georgetown is a very challenging academic institution and I am sure he will do well. We are all certainly rooting for him.

I dont think Grizz went out and recruited KCU, Im pretty sure they were the one that came to him during his senior year. He had his choices.

He didn't say Grizzle was one of those or that everyone that transferred recruited KCU to sign them. Don't stir up something that isn't there. :thumb:

I don't know if this is a great move for Scott in football terms. Georgetown has a lot of great players and athletes, and i don't think he'll ever see playing time there. Thats just IMO...

 

I know thats playing football in college is more about getting an education than football though.
