January 7, 200818 yr I know they have been listed earlier but these always get me: Backdraft Ladder 49 Armaggedon
January 7, 200818 yr Taking the chance of being ridiculed mercilessly Steel Magnolias The scene after Shelby's funeral where Sally Field is is mad at the whole world and venting her hurt to her friends. It comes to an abrupt end however, when Sally Field says she just wants to hit something and Olympia Dukakis grabs Shirley MacLaine and tells her to "here hit Ouiser", Ouiser of course being MacLaine's character. You go from tears to laughter in seconds. Lol, we can both be ridiculed... I'll throw Beaches into the discussion. Even though it is very much a chic flick.
January 7, 200818 yr The first time I saw it in the theater... when bagpipes were playing Amazing Grace at Spock's funeral I think a spec of lint got into my eye. Me, too. Also, Gladiator. "Go to them." And "Something for Joey"
January 7, 200818 yr Wow...I virtually cry at just about anything (I cry when sad AND when happy AND when mad-real annoying trait)...but some that make me sob EVERYTIME I see them are: I Am Sam Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood Rudy Virtually all "The downtrodden rise!" themed movies.
January 7, 200818 yr How anyone would be able to watch Hotel Rwanda and not get choked up is beyond me...
January 7, 200818 yr How anyone would be able to watch Hotel Rwanda and not get choked up is beyond me... Yeah, but then you've got to add to that, Schindler's List, The Killing Fields, etc....As much as they break me up, those kinds of movies are my favorite.
January 8, 200818 yr Yeah, but then you've got to add to that, Schindler's List, The Killing Fields, etc....As much as they break me up, those kinds of movies are my favorite. I agree completely. Hotel Rwanda is one of the best movies I've ever seen.
January 8, 200818 yr I love movies like everyone else, but I can't think of any that have made me cry. It's hard for me to become emotional over actor's who I will see in 3 weeks on another movie. I just can't "lose" myself in a movie. Books, on the other hand........
January 8, 200818 yr Several of you already said this, but I find as I get older, more movies make me cry, so there are too many to mention. When I was younger, none of them did.
January 8, 200818 yr Here's one that many of you might not have heard about: "The Trip To Bountiful" (1985) starring Geraldine Page, who won an Oscar for her performance. It's about an elderly woman who lives with her hen-pecked son and his hateful wife. Her one wish is to visit the town where she was born and raised before she dies, the town of Bountiful, Texas. Her son won't allow it because of her health, and her daughter-in-law doesn't want to waste money, of which is partly from the the elderly lady's SS check. She decides to run away, catch a bus, and go on her own. I'll not go into the rest of it, but it is a very touching movie.

I just watched this movie for a class, I didn't like the ending but overall it was a very good movie.. Not a tear jerker for me, but a very good movie.
