Per WKYT. Working on finding a link.

I guess the performance last night was good enough to shed the interim tag.

Looks like he won more than a bowl game last night, something tells me we was not their first choice but was so impressive they almost had to give him the job. First impressions looks like they got a good one. Only negitive is he looks like a young Lou Holtz,:D

It appears he has the ability to motivate.

I'm glad for him

That was a pretty impressive "try out"!

Great story and WVU played with tremendous enthusiasm all night. How could you not like the guy and watching the game, I found myself hoping he would get the job.

Good hire. He will do good at W. VA...

I think he's a good hire, as well. I do believe that one of us could coach them to a BCS game next season (assuming the whole crew comes back).

Pat White + Bob Stoops didn't hurt him much along with the nice interview last night!

I felt the same way watching the game. He was definitely having a good time on the sidelines, and seemed to be savoring every moment. Listening to him talk, he sounds like the kind of man I would want my son to play for.

Horrible hire for WVU. If I was a WVU fan I would be very worried. He seems like a very nice guy but has won one game with them with RR players. He only coached them for two weeks. They had so many better qualified people that wanted that job. Feel good hires do not work out for the long run. Rich Rodriquez had put that program in position to be a national power for years to come and now they hire a guy that will propably get ate up in the national recruiting wars. If I am another Big East team I am extremely excited.

I would be concerned about his unproven recruiting. He appears to be well-liked by the players and a good motivator. He has been around long enough to know the game, but can he recruit?

He has been at WVU for eight years, I would think he has a pretty good handle on the WVU program. He may or may not work out, but being from WV and having coached and played in the state of WV I would say he has developed some pretty good relationships with the high school programs in the WV, Ohio Valley and West Pa regions.

Don Nehlan had put the program in the position of National Power in the 1980's and Bobby Bowden had the Mountaineers in a couple of peach bowls before his "little" stint at FSU.

I felt the same way, I had not seen him before, but during the game you could not help but like the man. He was really enjoying himself, and the players seemed to like having him in the head coaches position.

Watch out Coach Stewart, you are in a "Tubby situation", you won with someone elses team, now can you win with yours. It will take four years to find out, but you had better get on the recruiting trail.:D

I don't know for sure because I have never met the man, but the way he was acting and the way the players were acting toward him, I got the impression that he could sale snow to a eskimo. I may be wrong, but that is what I was thinking about during the game - how I thought he will be very good as a recruiter.

He is losing most of his main Asst. and his Strenght and Cond coach. They are asking a man that has a poor track record as a HC to assemble a staff and recruit nationally. WV has poor HS football for this level and if you want to compete at the level that has been established you better get into Ohio and Pennsylvania. I do not see him being able to compete with the Tressell's, Rodriguez's, and Paterno's of the world. Like I said seems like a nice guy but I feel a horrible hire.
