January 4, 200818 yr I think he is a breath of fresh air. In a day of agents and contract diputes, he takes the job on a handshake. College sports need more men like Billy Stewart, and less selfish, greedy, agent driven coaches. Congrats to WVU and Billy Stewart. I am not a WVU fan, but after listening to Coach Stewart's press conference I will silently root for the Mountaineers! That sums it up for me, VERY nicely said. :thumb:

They could of gotten him for $250K.

Some concerns were posted about he only had a few weeks with RR's players, he has been an assistant under him for years and has probably recruited some of those players and has certainly coached them as well as RR. A person could easily see the amount of respect that the WVU kids had for Coach Stewart. IMO they had a lot more respect for him than RR even before he (RR) stabbed them in the back. With the recent stories/departures by coaches with no regard to thier team and/or employers I really like ths hire. Coach Swerat is as he said "from West By God Virginia" and he will remain there. He also made the statment that he was not going anywhere and this was his last job. He said if he wasn't getting the job done that he would know it and no one would have to tell him to leave, that he would do that on his own. The man loves the State, the School, yhe Fans and His Players. Best of luck to WVU and Coach Stewart in the Big East ! They (WVU) are noe my favorite Big East team along with U.C...........:thumb:
January 5, 200818 yr I went to a coaching clinic at WVU last year and talked with Coach Stewart and he seemed like a class guy, that was down to earth. Sometimes it is about getting kids to play for you and seems like he did a good job. As far as VMI, tell me who has ever won there? I say good hire.
