Pat, I think you may have jumped the gun there. Assuming Dale does this year what he has done in the past, he'll give Bardo a fair shot to win the starting qb position. Personally having watched both kids play qb over the past several years, I don't think Tony is a clear favorite to win it. Frankly I see it as a neck and neck race, and their performances in spring football and 7 on 7s will be critical. If Tony wins it, I don't think Bardo will be moved to receiver; rather Dale will keep him as the back up qb to prepare for next year. If Bardo wins it, then my guess is that Tony will be moved to another position as he is too good of an athlete to sit on the bench his senior year. Regardless of who wins the spot, I'm certain that the kid that doesn't win it will be disappointed, but nonetheless will accept the decision and work hard to help the team. Think Jay Draper here. He took Dale's decision hard, but worked his tail off to become the best receiver he could to help the team.

And the excitement starts in about two months! Should be an exciting contest for the starting qb position. Will Dale make adjustments to the line to help protect the qb? Or, are the horses in place from last year's squad? Should be fun to watch the action in March... I would take this over March Madness any day!

Are you sure you weren't thinking of Hogue, not Bardo? Will Bardo is going to be in the hunt for the starting QB position. I'm not saying he will be, but he's definately going to be in there pushing Tony.

Today's the first offical day for winter weight's at Highland's. Looking forward to the boy coming home and listening how Dale tried to kill them during there running drill's. They usually have a lot of garbage cans scattered throughout the gym. I hope they have a good turnout.

I think the Frosh to Sophomore turnout will be the most interesting... I am confident the varisty 60 minutes will have both quantity and quality!

Our son just got home (6:25 p.m.) Some of the "no shows" are a bit surprising. He did say it was in all a good turnout.

How about a couple of the big boys for Highlands..... Jarred Frank and Cody Rosenhagen?

 

"Rosie" was amazing this year and played a big part in the State Championship. IMO if he gets serious about the weights and takes SR leadership, he should be one of the best Def. lineman in the STATE! This youngman stands about 6'2" 265lbs and is quick and fast, He is most definetly D1 prospect.
