Or maybe that is just me. Or when I see Nash and Stoudamire run two perfect pick-n-rolls last week, I still think of Stockton and Malone.

December 11, 200718 yr I think with Jordan and Pippen you had two guys who could do it all. Jordan was unstoppable. Pippen could have off-nights scoring and shooting, but that was just the tip of his game. Pippen could run the point, he could post up, he was one of the most intelligent players ever, he was subject to give you 10+ rebounds or 10+ assists on any given night, and he was a lockdown defender. You could put Pippen on almost any player the opposing team had and know that he would frustrate and make that guy work hard for everything he got...and potentially shut him down. Jordan was the same way in many respects, only better...obviously, Jordan's offensive game was superior to Pippen's (and pretty much any other player in the NBA), but he was also able to give you the rebounds and assists on any given night. He also could run the point, if necessary. And, on the defensive end, Jordan could take any 1, 2, or 3 guy and put the clamps on him...he would either shut them down or frustrate them and force them to perform at a level below their norm. Also, both guys were great at playing passing lanes and converting them to easy transition baskets. For me personally, it's at the defensive end of the court where MJ and Scottie separate themselves from the other duos...both were great offensively, but in their primes, they were arguably the two best defensive players in the NBA. In fact, they're two of the best defensive players in league history, IMO. Just my $0.02
