cchcolonels08 Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 Any thoughts? It would be nice to see the Colonels come out with a big win in the first game.
shooterx3 Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 I'll take Lex cath by 8 They should be ready to go, and their inside/outside game is second to none
Tiger1 Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 IMO: LexCath has too much for CovCath to handle. LexCath by 9.
mcpapa Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 Real interested in hearing reports on this one, since Mason County plays both squads this year.
colonel-fan Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 This one is at CovCath, right? How many people will LexCath bring with them?
cch5432 Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 LexCath is a very good team, but Noll did a good job guarding Novosel this summer. Will be interesting to see how CovCath guards Smart, and especially Stewart. I'd imagine that Maile and Grimes are the only two players big and athletic enough to guard them, and both of them will be undersized. This is also a very tough game for Mitch Shover's debut at point guard, as LexCath will probably do some sort of zone press that has given the Colonels trouble in the past.
Hoops111 Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 Lex Cath is too much. Cov Cath will be fine in Northern Kentucky this year, but thats about it.
knights52 Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 Noll couldn't guard Novosel at all this summer. Lex Cath won't bring any crowd, and cov cath student section is second to none which could rattle lex cath, but i take lex cath by 15+. They are too big, too strong, and too athletic for cov cath, but cov cath is a good team, probably the best in the 9th region and it could very easily be a close game
cshs81 Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 BTW, this is a tripleheader with the FROSH going as well.
striker Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 This will be a good test for both squads. Covcath is a little less experienced beginning this season than Lexcath.

True but LexCath is one of the few teams in the state more experienced than CovCath, as they only lost 4 seniors, only 2 of which played most of the year.

I agree. My point is that I think covcath has more upside by the end of the year than does lexcath based on varsity playing experience at key spots such as pg.
