Oh, I wasn't trying to get at the secret. I was just concerned that we don't end up witnessing a Yosemite Sam moment.

Not a chance that it would ever be fired for NC or anyother school in the area. Heck they don't even fire it for anyother Highlands sport. Such as basketball, soccer, baseball, etc. Strictly FOOTBALL!

I have a very early memory of the cannon.... when Highlands and Belfry used to regularly meet in the playoffs in the early 80's my dad grew increasingly more and more upset with the cannon, when Highlands brought it to the Pike County Bowl one year I heard one of my first cuss words ever spoken when it was rolled onto the field, so everytime I hear anything referring to Fort Thomas I will always associate it with "CANNON!"

That game was in 1990. Belfry won 38-7. Highands was 8-3 that year. They also lost big to Cov Cath and lost to Lloyd that year.

Yeah I was real young, but wasn't you guys really tabbed as the team to beat that year and coming off a State Title?

I have heard several awesome stories about going to Ft. Thomas for football games, I even made a couple but I was a very young todler then.
