Belfry doesn't see many passing teams ... Belfry will have to make plays in secondary to beat Breathitt ... Can Belfry win this type of game. Breathitt will put everyone in the box and even Belfry won't run wild ... If they do , Red Army will win ..

Beware Belfry - you have to get points at each opportunity .... Devils fell in love with dropping back and tackling recievers after they caught the ball .. Need a pass rush that knocks Breathitt QB to the ground , Breathitt does excellent job protecting QB ..

 

Breathitt strength is QB who can play catch with recievers who do not drop the ball - rare in high school ...Recievers are steady ...

 

Russell was as good or better than Breathitt! You cant keep running the ball with 11 guys in the box Russell never made adjustments.

Belfry has done rather well against some other solid passing teams, Corbin and Somerset both were stymied by Belfry's starting defense. In order to beat Belfry balance is a must, a team must be able to run the ball effectively or else their passing game will never get off the ground. Additionally, a running team has to be able to keep Belfry's excellent LB's and improved DB's honest against the pass or they will be shut down as well.

Breathitt has a fine passing game Belfry better be ready to defend!

 

Being ready to defend is something Belfry has had all year. Breathitt's passing game had better be more than just "fine" along with the total package or this one could get ugly.

Whoever wins,which i definitely think Belfry will. I wish you a lot better weather than Russell has had the last two years in Louisville. It can make a very big difference in the game.Was just miserable trying to enjoy the game.Good luck to both teams friday night.

Gotta stop taking the bait from those Raceland boys. They throw LCA into everything to try and make them look better while not giving Russell credit for spanking them AT FULL STRENGTH much more handily than LCA did. That's why they always say that LCA was easily the best team they played this year regardless of class. It's to rile you boys up and it usually gets a couple of you.

 

I love the boys from LCA. They are my favorite team here in Lexington but I had the privilege of going to the Raceland/Russell game with my friend from Russell and that team would beat my boys from LCA about 7 out of 10 times if they played in my opinion. Russell was more physical and would not try to get into a shooting match with LCA. I'd say all the games would be close but I'd have to give the nod to Russell.

 

Again, this is my opinion and it's all in fun. The only sure thing is they both beat Raceland and, to me based on what I read on here, it seems the Russell loss hurts more than the LCA one does. By the same token, my guess is that losing to Raceland would have bothered a good deal of Russell fans more than losing to Breathitt did. Breathitt won and went home. Raceland is in your backyard.

 

Gotta love those cross-town rivalries!!

I dont know about that, they don't even have an article from the Russell game yet, it must be a weekly and not a daily paper.
