I think this will be a very good game. Breathitt played Shelby Valley and beat them as bad as we did, so I think this good be Belfry's toughest game yet. If Belfry's is mentally focused, I see the Pond Creek Nation advancing to Louisville.

Long way away from me making a preditcion, but I will say that since about Week 7 I have told everyone that there were 2 teams in 3A that really worried me, Somerset and Breathitt. Somerset because of the Cole kid and their pension for passing the ball (a habitual weakness for MOST Belfry teams), Breathitt because of their balance and the fact they create different looks than what you will see, also the Bobcats are gauranteed to have a very quick defense that could plug the holes up on Belfry in a hurry.

 

All I know for sure, Breathitt will bring alot of fans, Belfry will bring alot of fans, and since it is the only show the area, I expect alot of netutral fans to eb theer as well. Should eb ALOT of fun.

 

I will say this though, this is not your ordinary Belfry defense, they really have answered every challenge.

If I could pick one game in the state to go to, it would be this game!! It is to far for me to travel, but IMO this will be an awesome game!! Good Luck to both teams, I hope a mountain team wins though!! Ha Ha!

They cover every Belfry game and do an excellent job....

Can we say that Breathitt Co. is just a passing team,I really think we are about 50/50 here in last 4-5 games ,and Channing Fugate will and is as good 10 grader as they are in state. Belfry will have to respect our running game and then will have our passing game to respect.

Now Belfry has to be favorite but by no way will they beat us in the huge #'s i have heard, i say we will have to play really well but we can and have done that this season,looks like another "GREAT" game ,and where else could you not want to play your best ,with a chance to go to the Pizza House,and i do believe that ever who wins this game is your 3-A State Champs winner. So lets bring it back too the Hills of Eastern Ky,be it Breathitt Co.Or Belfry I will be there cheering for either one and Good Luck!!!!

Breathitt will be lucky to stay within 2 touchdowns. No knock on Breathitt, Belfry is that good. The only team that can stop Belfry in Class 3A this year is Belfry.

Belfry will have to be able to run the ball with everyone from Breathitt in the box,or throw the ball to loosen them up. If Russell had thrown the ball more to spread them out they could have done much better running the ball. Belfry wins 35-14

I really can not wait until Friday night but I guess I really have to. Breathitt Co. always fields a great team and come Friday night I feel that everyone there is going to see one heck of a ballgame between the Pirates and the Bobcats.

 

I hope Breathitt packs the visitors side because the RED NATION will be out in full force as we cheer our boys back to the state championship.

 

Taking nothing away from the Bobcats because they are a great team. They are 13-0 and were able to go to Russell and beat the Red Devils and that is no easy task.

 

However I feel that this Belfry Pirates team is on a mission. After the loss of Mr. Philips and Jim Von Smith this Pirate team has played closer than any Pirate team I have seen before. You can see it in their eyes. You can see it when they walk on the field. It's there when they have 8 boys in on a tackle and you can see it when the other 10 boys surround the one that just took the ball into the endzone "For Another Pirate Touchdown!"

 

The fire is in their eyes and the determination and dedication is in their hearts and come Friday night this good Breathitt Co. team is going to find out just how great this Belfry Pirate team really is.

 

It will be a war but in the end the Pirates march on with a sea of red following close behind to the Pizza Box.

I have seen both teams as well, biggest difference I see is team speed on D. Belfry players always seem to be exactly where they need to be when they need to be there. Might not be speed, might be great coaching but either way Belfry D is very impressive.
