November 20, 200718 yr Spoke to two Outback Reps in Athens. They happened to be in the same restaurant I was. They basically said we have to win this week. If we win we have a real good shot at the Outback Bowl. They will be here for the TN game. So IMO, if we win it's Outback. If we lose it's Chic-Fil-A. That would be good either way....:jump:
November 20, 200718 yr The really big advantage is that they will feel the stadium up and make a lot of money for the Outback people. I don't know about you guys, but I would much rather see UK vs. Wisconsin in the Outback Bowl as to see UK vs. Clemson in any other bowl. I agree. If there is anyway the Outback can choose UK they will. But there's some kind of requirements about who they have to choose based on record and can only skip so many places etc. I don't know all the rules, maybe someone else does. But I think we have the Chic-Fil-A locked up.
November 20, 200718 yr Wireman, we won't make it this year, but I'll be glad to discuss Bowl history with you and we play the Cats next year. Weedeater, Heck I'd take it, so don't feel so bad you people made it and I'm glad for the CatNation.
November 20, 200718 yr UK will not be in the Independence Bowl. Worst case scenario IMO is Music City.
November 20, 200718 yr You guys think UK will have a chance to play Clemson again? There are about 2-3 different scenarios that would have UK against Clemson again. If South Carolina beats Clemson however, things really get messy.
November 20, 200718 yr Win and we could play Michigan in the Outback Bowl, lose and its to the chick-fil-a/music city bowl vs. clemson
November 20, 200718 yr I think if we win the Tennessee the most likely bowl would be the Outback because of the UK connection and the amount of fans we brought last time we played there. A loss to Tennessee and I think we go to the Chick-fil-A Bowl in Atlanta, and after looking at the ESPN Bowl Projections, they seem to feel the same way. It appears they both have Tennesse winning the UK game and playing in the Cotton or Outback bowls, and they both put UK in the Chick-fil-A Bowl. Pretty intriguing matchup possibilities also with Boston College and Clemson being some of the possible opponents.
November 21, 200718 yr The really big advantage is that they will feel the stadium up and make a lot of money for the Outback people. I don't know about you guys, but I would much rather see UK vs. Wisconsin in the Outback Bowl as to see UK vs. Clemson in any other bowl. :thumb:
November 21, 200718 yr When we win this weekend we will earn a date with Michigan in the Outback. I think this could happen.
November 21, 200718 yr I have heard a lot of noise about pitting Ron Zook and the Illini vs. his old team, the Gators, maybe in Tampa.
