Breathitt by no means won't be as physically exhausting as that Belfry team.

 

This is by far the best matchup of the year between two 3A teams, anyone else see this game beign similar to the last time that these storied programs met?

 

 

Breathitt was the #1 ranked team when we managed to come away with a hard-fought playoff win at Jackson that year. And, while our subsequent game with the Pirates was close throughout, Breathitt had managed to sideline 2 of our best players. So you can never underestimate Coach Holcomb's ability to get his team ready to play any given team, no matter their style of play.

Looks like they are pretty much 50/50 run and pass. Could be in for a high scoring game. Don't know the stats from the link on how many yards they have given up since none is listed, so I don't know if they are more vulnerable to the run or pass.

It will all depend on who establishes their game. If Breathitt County can score quick at any point in the game then Russell is in trouble. BUT if Russell can control the tempo of this game the Bobcats will be taking up the equipment after the Thanksgiving Break. You don't want to behind against Russell going into the 4th. I would like to know McGlone's winning percentage when leading in the 4th?

Breathitt has not really played a good ball control team as of yet,and Russell and Belfery are two good teams,and they will really test Coach John Chapmans defense but you had better believe he is one of the states best defensive coach but he will have his young talented players ready for the test at hand.

Hate and jealousy is a terrible thing to live with. Makes people very bitter and it's simply sad to see. We need to pray for those types of people. :thumb:

I must say that being a fan of the Breathitt Co. Bobcats we do expect to WIN when our Bobcats takes the field (kinda way Coach Holcomb and Chapman and staff wants it),we are kinda spoiled but its a great way to feel as far a "hate and jealous" we dont have room for stuff like that in our life cause as i say we are FAN of the game and someone wins and someone looses,gotta be able to except a loss ever now and then if you play the game, but we all like too win more than loose.

Most people do not. There are those out there who are eaten up with it though and it shows through no matter how much they try to hide it. You may never see it totally in here but you definitely will in a PM at some point if you disagree with them. It's AMAZING!!!

Why do you think Breathitt is the favorite? I don't disagree with you. I think Russell will be the underdog until they win out or get beat.

 

I think Breathitt has a balanced offense that can hurt you in so many ways. Although there has been a great deal of improvement, Russell secondary is still suspect, especially if Breathitt can establish the run.

I won't disagree with you. One thing Russell does have in our favor is Coach Morris. He is one of the great defensive minds in High School football. He can take a bunch of average kids and make them into a team that plays well. I think the russell game play will be very similar to the game plan we played against O Catholic in the 2005 championship game. No we don't have the expertise we had then but they will manage. If Russell plays their cards right and a few breaks we should control the ball and have if about 2/3s of the time. If we don't then it's Basketball. Win or loose you will see the best that Russell has. I personally think we will win this game. I think Russell will control the ball and play better on defense. I do think we will see some changes on the defensive side of the ball come friday night to stop the air attack.

 

It will sure be nice to have this game a Russell.

This years team only gets beat if someone can dominate them physically .. Not happening this week and not sure Red Army has enough balance ..... They physically dominated in 2004 but that ended in 05 , 06 ...

 

Devils can go the distance , if secondary can balance covering the pass with coming up and supporting the run .... Confidence in this enitre group of Devils grows every week....
