HC is a good team and have proven they deserve to be respected for what they have accomplished in the last three years driving deep into the playoffs. I know this is going to be a close game for 3 quarters but I think that this Trinity team is starting to play to the preseason hype. I look for the rocks to win this game 34-17. This game will no way be a running clock! Boyd is a great player and I have great cofidence that the coaching staff will have our Rocks defense ready. I think it will play out similar to the way these two teams have played in the past. A feeling out process early, good adjustments by Beatty and company, then Rocks pull away late in the third quarter 41-21. HC fans have a safe trip to the Rock and everyone have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I was at the game and didn't even notice it. Trust me, it did not fire up our crowd or our team. It is child-like, but also insignificant. I can assure you it was not a pre-meditated conspiracy and evidently, only a couple of Henry Clay players even participated.

Yes! This is the only game in town. There are 4,675 seats at Marshall Stadium. We have had a estimated 7,500+ for big games based on the Fire Marshall.

I think HC has to bring its "A" game to win, and hope T doesn't. History says it's T, and I agree.

I would love to have Henry Clay bring a win home to Lexington, and also see some the Henry Clay kids that I have seen grow up over the last 10 years do well. There are many good kids on that Henry Clay team that our sons would play with or against when they were younger, however, since Fayette Public schools do not allow the Fayette county high school teams to play Lexington Catholic, I have not been able to watch some of the Henry Clay athletes as often as I would have liked. Good luck to both teams, but even a little more luck to the young men from Henry Clay.

Who specifically on T's "first team defense" matches up with Aaron Boyd? T has seen D L Moore from Bowling Green and Stephon Ball from Cincy St Xavier but Boyd is a 4 star on rivals.com and the best college prospect in KY ( sorry Somerset WR!). He can control the game when he wants to and I think he wants to this week. T can play a good team defense but they have struggled against teams with good WR on the defensive side like BG and Cincy St X by giving up 75 points between those two games. It isn't so much what the WR does but the respect you have to show them. Boyd is better than Moore and Ball and I wouldn't be surprised to see him score at least 2 TD's against T's undersized DB's. Add in an experienced QB and a solid RB and HC will have no trouble scoring. The only way they don't score 30 points is if they decide to slow down the game to keep the T offense off the field.

Back to the game.

 

1. Does HC have other good receivers besides Boyd? Trinity likes to press great receivers at the line with a defensive end with a corner and safety over top. If HC has other good receivers, this could be problematic.

 

2. Is Gay more of a slasher or a powerful back? More like Israel or Rod Johnson? If he's a slasher, that makes Trinity keep more in the box to help on the quick runs/draws.

 

3. Finally, hasn't the qb run for a bunch of yardage this year? Are those scheduled read options or scrambles?

 

4. Has Coach Simpson been in a close game this year, where he's been forced to make pressure calls?
