I am going to say Pats because They could still win a few more.

I think I'll just exclude the Pats from consideration for now, until their dynasty actually ends.

It's a tough question really.

When did they start free agency?

Interesting that the only dynasty that had two coaches have received zero votes.

Also, the 49ers are the only dynasty that had two different QB's.

I'm trying to decide between the 49ers and the Steelers.

Montana won 3 SB MVPs and 4 SB's, HE was the QB who was the leader on the field of those dynasties. The Steve Young superbowl win came on the tail end of that minidynasty.

BTW, my favorite was the 49ers. However, I voted Steelers.

I wonder if you can add the Dolphins of the early to mid 70's? :D

Actually I'm going with the Steelers.

Who were the teams that each had the most competition with?

60's Pack won 5 titles in the era and beat teams such as the Cowboys (pre-Morton and Staubach), the first AFL champs were no match, but they did beat the Colts (Johnny U), Browns (Jim Brown), and an aging NY Giants (Frank Gifford) for titles.

70's Steelers faced the Cowboys twice. They beat the Vikings when Minnesota was in the middle of going to the SB 3 out of 4 years. The Rams were one of the flukiest teams to make the SB.

80's Niners faced the best 2 Bengal squads of that era and held on to win the first and pulled the 2nd out. They shredded a horrible Dolphins and Bronco defenses for big title wins.

90's Cowboys had to get by some great San Fran teams and beat perennial 2nd place Buffalo twice. Beat a gritty Steeler team that threw int's right to them.

00's Pats beat a big time favorite in the Rams and upstart in the Panthers. Also got by the Eagles. All 3 were a play or two from going the other way.

How about the Browns of the 50's?

Mike and Mike discussed this. They said the Packers had 10 HOFers including the coach. The Steelers had 9 including their coach but LC Greenwood had not been elected in. He seems to be the Davey Concepion of the NFL.

Don't believe the other teams have come close to that number.

How many HOF's are on the Niners or the Cowboys from those eras?

SF Montana, Rice ?

Dallas Aikman, Irvin, Smith ?

Just in case anyone is wondering :D the Dolphins have: Little, Langer, Csonka, Warfield, Griese, Buonicatti and Shula. (Did Kuch make it?) So that gives them 7 counting the coach.
