CovCath? Down year? It won't surprise me if they win state this year. All they have to do is beat highlands, and with everybody back from injury that's a very good chance.

 

But i don't expect CCH to win. If they get out injury free and continue to improve it will be a good experience.

 

I didn't realize every other 5A team had decided not to play in the playoffs this year. Well will Highlands and CCH have 4 byes, or will they now play the 5A State title game in week one of the playoffs?

How long do you play your starters in a game like this with no real meaning of the outcome? Do you take a chance for further injury to try an get a victory?

I don't think that would have worked that night in December.

What we did didn't work either so X has a decision going forward with this game against CC-

Okay, so I need to change my post from 8 people to 16...

I think Cov Cath should not risk injury. They should hold all their cards for their playoff games. Risking injury to 6A power St. X could be very devastating to a thin program like Cov Cath (compared to the numbers at St. X)... I get the feeling that this game will see St. X hitting on many cylinders..... This bunch is a little hungry after the last two weeks...

First-year coach Dave Brossart has gotten a steady season from quarterback Zach Isler, who has completed 83 of 176 passes for 1,049 yards and five touchdowns. The No. 1 Tigers will try to complete their second undefeated regular season in three years tonight but will have to do so without top running back Deuce Finch (1,389 rushing yards, 15 TDs). He suffered a knee injury against Central last week and will miss tonight's game and next week's first-round playoff game, coach Mike Glaser said. That's a fairly competetive prediction. Just find it odd as Frakes has St. X his number 1 team in 6-A and CovCath nowhere to be found in his 5-A rankings, yet he believes the Colonels will go on the road and make a game of it.

Is this game going to be on a radio station down in the Ville? I will be at the HHS/Central game but would like to catch a score update. Any Tigers down there able to give us some insight on that? By the way, I like the discussion on how the rest of the team pulling together when 1 goes down. I believe that true winning programs will do this. X has proven that they are winners. Here is the other thing to consider, Cov Cath pulled together to give Highlands a pretty decent game without some starters and I think those guys are back, so it could be interesting. Still have to go with the powerhouse on this one, sorry colonels.
