With X in an up year, and Cov Cath in a down year, I would expect X by 3 or 4 TD's.

 

CovCath? Down year? It won't surprise me if they win state this year. All they have to do is beat highlands, and with everybody back from injury that's a very good chance.

 

But i don't expect CCH to win. If they get out injury free and continue to improve it will be a good experience.

Last time these two met and St. X was nationally ranked, CovCath took it to the Tigers and handed them their only loss of the season and the Tigers went on to win state, running off fourteen consecutive victories. Unfortunately for them, that was the first game of the year and the Tigers had to travel for the game. Theyre a well oiled machine right now and the second teamers will get valuable game experience in this one to get ready for the playoffs.

 

How soon do you think the X second teamers will get those minutes?

 

 

This is a great opportunity for CovCath. The season has been building to this time of the year with many new starter gaining varsity experience and other players getting healthy. If the offense can be productive as it was last week and if the Colonels aren't overwhelmed early by the emotion of Senior Night at X, this game could be a pretty good one. The Colonels really have nothing to lose and it should be a good game to watch.

We haven't managed to do this all year. It sure would be nice for a change. :eek:

I would love to see CCH go to Louisville and beat them on their senior night, last game of the year. And give them their only loss. I see them coming out and playing a hard fought battle. CCH's D will have to play the game of the year (even better than the Beechwood game) for them to win. The O needs no turn-overs and no 3 and outs. They need to control the clock and get their running game going early with Buckley and Furnish. Isler needs a great game, along with the recievers.

No one player can replace Deuce right now so it has to be a team effort by all the backs, line and receivers to pick up the slack. Hopefully a lot of other offensive players will get a chance to make an impact and they will take advantage of it. The other side of the ball has to pick it up as well. The defense cannot afford to play lackadaisical and let CovCath score early like what happened in PRP and Central games or they might not get the lead back. The Tiger defense needs to come out fired up and pitch a shutout to ensure a victory. I predict a low scoring game with the Tigers winning by two touchdowns.

The thing that I fear is X had to ability to say"we are running to the left side" when Finch was in and no one except Ballard and Central could stop it. With Deuce out, we may get too cute similar to last year's Male playoff game. With that said, the offense has started slow in just about every game except Butler and Male. I agree that this will end up 17-7 unless Neal and Montano get loose. I like the old "Billy Jack" comparison I heard about X- "I'm going take this leg and whoop you on the side of your face and there's nothing you can do about it!" I don't know if X can still do that w/out Deuce in the lineup.

All of a sudden this game got a lot closer. With a break or two, CovCath can win this one. They are coming into the game confident; and now more then ever believing they can win. X on the other hand, has to have just that tiny little bit of concern and doubt in their minds that they could lose with the Duece out.

 

For CovCath to win, they need to get points in their second, if not first offensive possession; get a turnover or two; and hold on for dear life in the fourth quarter when X's depth really starts asserting itself.
