Patriots 52 Redskins 7

It takes away from the integrity of the game. It they win the SB, it'll be a tainted win IMO. Why? Because they had to cheat and IMO should have been banned from post season play.

I don't hate Bellicheck, I think he's a great coach, he sure didn't need to cheat. Now, I just don't respect him.

So you're telling me that teams that play the Patriots from here on out won't change their defensive calls?

If I misunderstood then please forgive me, I would certainly not want to make any accusations that could be misinterpreted. That said, your overall tone has been nothing but vehement where the Patriots are concerned and as such the implication of saying you want Tom Brady to "get nailed really good," would be that you want him to be hit hard enough (or in such a way) to cause an injury.

Oh I appreciate the condescending tone by the way. Always useful in a discussion.

I don't like Tom Brady, that's no secret. I want to see him get really nailed on every play in every game. That doesn't mean I want him injured, but feel free to take it however you like. I also don't care for a team that feels the need to cheat to win, so yeah, I can't stand the Pats.

BTW, I appreciated the condescending tone from you also. ;)

Did I say that?

You're implying they need to cheat to win, and they clearly don't.

No, I said just the opposite.

As to this part of your comment, what's so baffling? People don't like cheaters. C'mon, with what they have, did he really need to?
See. ;)
If they keep running that fake spike then opposing teams will no longer hold back on that play. It's custom for the defense to not dive through the line and try to hit the QB when they know he's going to spike it, but if they keep faking the spike you might see a linebacker dive through or over the line and nail Brady.

He may, that's a risk that he takes, and a big risk the defense would take...as they would likely get a roughing the passer penalty....for what it's worth that was in the first half, and all is fair game in the first half on any level.

Actually you didn't say just the opposite. At least not inthe most pertinent post here.

If you look at the part I bolded you indicated that if they won this superbowl it would be because they cheated, hence my comment about the defensive calls. If teams change their defensive signals then what good would the cheating do them? So essentially the implication of what you said was thus:

If they win the Superbowl it will be tainted because they cheated to get there.

Hence my comment and Habib's. :thumb:

Nice try BUT...

They were CAUGHT cheating. PERIOD! You can't argue that, not a chance, no matter how you try to spin it. You don't get fined that kind of jack for not cheating, right? Therefore, tainted should they win.

I absolutely said that there was no need for them to cheat considering all they had (meaning offensive line, defense, coach etc...). There was no need for them to cheat. Yet they did, they got caught and they really should have been suspended from post season play IMO.

Hence the "tainted SB win" should they win it all.

I really can't make it any clearer than that. :thumb:

BTW, you added the "to get there" part. I never said that.

I'll keep mine for now thanks though. You're doing great keeping this one cookin, I don't have the disdain for NE but you're posturing a great case to do so. :thumb:

Can't blame you for keeping the avatar you have. :thumb:

:thumb: Pretty simple concept really.

A simple concept is reading the posts. :D

The post I responded to said stealing the other teams signs is cheating. NOTHING, I repeat, NOTHING about videotaping.

I was pointing out that stealing signs IS NOT cheating but a common practice at almost every level.

I think I even agreed in my post that videotaping is cheating.:thumb:

You'd think so...

The implication of saying that this particular Super Bowl, should the Patriots win it, would be tainted brings to light another question. What of the other three that they have won? Since they were just recently caught cheating who is to say that their others weren’t won in that fashion? I daresay that this one should be free of the taint and the other three tainted if we are going by that logic. Here is why. We have no way of knowing for sure that they cheated to win those 3 Super Bowls, however we know for a fact that they would not be cheating to win this one. Since no team in the NFL is stupid enough to keep their defensive signals the same after the Patriots were caught filming them, that edge in and of itself is eliminated. As such the Patriots would be winning on talent, skill and coaching this season. From here on out we know they aren’t cheating, prior to this season is a different story. If anything should be tainted it should be those seasons, at least from my perspective.

Had the NFL decided to ban them from post season play I would have supported it. Since they have decided to not punish them in that fashion I will support that too. I don’t rate the NFL highly enough in my list of things that are important in my life to where I really get that angry or upset about any of it. I get more into Trinity football than I ever will Bengals football. I am a Trinity alum; I have no connection to the Bengals outside of the fact that I was a fan of them as a child. Prop 20 gets me more fiery than this whole Patriots thing. In fact I find your anger on this whole matter quite amusing.

That said, we may need to bring out the deceased equine for further abuse.
