For what it's worth though your response indicate a significant emotional response to the whole situation. Of course at the same time I wouldn't be surprised to see you respond in kind and say the same of me. Fair is fair after all.

All I can say to that is:

 

1. I really can't stand Brady.

2. If the Pats did what the rest of the league did when up that much in the 4th, I wouldn't care in the least.

Virtually every FB commentator that I have heard has come down on the "there's no such thing as running up the score in the NFL, when players start getting paid all bets are off, if you don't want the score run up against you then stop somebody" side. That being said, the Pats shouldn't be terribly surprised if teams start throwing all-out blitzes at them if they continue to pile up the points by throwing late in the game and way ahead.

 

I haven't read all of the posts in this thread. Could part of what the Hoodie is doing be to be able to go back in the locker room with all the press clippings criticizing the late scores and tell the team, "See- I told you that everyone is against us - it's us against the world."? Just wondering, and sorry if this has already been brought up by someone else earlier in the thread.

More or less a difference in perspective then. I don't mind Brady at all. From my perspective, in professional sports, if a team wants to keep scoring and can I have no problem with it. College and high school where you see a bigger talent differential it can bother me, not always though.

I have been informed by other posters that is wasn't spying, it was scouting.

Just to add to what I have been saying, I tuned into 1530 on the way home the other day and heard Lapham talking about this issue. He said that he can remember some 20 years ago that teams would send their "advance scout" to an oppenents game the week before they played them. The scout would take pictures of whomever signaled in Defenses, and then talk into a tape recorder describing what he saw.

That's exactly the point I was trying to make earlier...I think there is more to this than Belichick wanting to take revenge on the NFL. I think he might be trying to shift the focus from spygate to the mean old classless Patriots running the score up on the poor little helpless NFL...and like you said, the Pats start seeing all this ranting and raving from teams, players, sportswriters...it will create that us against the world mentality that always motivates teams and brings them closer together...personally, I think this is all part of the plan...and it's genius, IMO.

Sounds like its time to shut this one down and move on.
