October 26, 200718 yr There's the old stand by when you need it... Just because it is old news doesn't make it not true.
October 26, 200718 yr Has there ever been a Heisman winner from a non-bowl eligible team? I guess Brohm could be the first. Have you ever heard of this really obscure player named Paul Hornung?
October 26, 200718 yr I'd turn it down if they asked... Why? That would be one guaranteed vote for a Cincy player :thumb:
October 26, 200718 yr I don't think you want to play that game. UofL plays in a stink conference and still can't win the games. BC schedule isn't exactly SEC claibur either. Woodson and company has been right there in the hunt in both of their losses against the Top 20 and the defending national champs. It isn't Woodson's fault the UK D' couldn't stop UF. Woodson played 110% or better to win that game vs. UF, his numbers and leadership showed it. Put BC and uofl in that conference, theres a laugh for you to choke on. Typical response....Use Brohm's record against him to keep him out of Heisman talk, but that doesn't work for Woodson. Silly me....
October 26, 200718 yr Author Just because it is old news doesn't make it not true. Funny story. LSU and UL were about even when comparing their contests against UK. And then we could look at Auburn and USF to compare conferences if you like. It's all subjective and can be spun 2,543,988,345 ways this season.....
October 26, 200718 yr Have you ever heard of this really obscure player named Paul Hornung? Sorry, I'm in Generation Y.:dancingpa
October 26, 200718 yr BTW GT get back to the World Series thread, I'm wasting my best material with no audience here....
October 26, 200718 yr It isn't Woodson's fault the UK D' couldn't stop UF. And it's Brohm's fault that his defense has played like crap all year?!  Keep it comin' man, really.
October 26, 200718 yr Typical response....Use Brohm's record against him to keep him out of Heisman talk, but that doesn't work for Woodson. Silly me.... Now to be completely fair UK's record and ranking are a LOT better than UL's. If UK wins out and Woodson is strong in each game there would really be a big difference.
October 26, 200718 yr Author Why? That would be one guaranteed vote for a Cincy player :thumb: I'd vote based on what I actually saw, and have little faith other voters even tuned in for most of the candidates...
October 26, 200718 yr Author Now to be completely fair UK's record and ranking are a LOT better than UL's. If UK wins out and Woodson is strong in each game there would really be a big difference. Woodson is in better shape than Brohm right now. No doubt about it. But the double standard 2 is pointing out is very valid...
October 26, 200718 yr Now to be completely fair UK's record and ranking are a LOT better than UL's. If UK wins out and Woodson is strong in each game there would really be a big difference. If they can use Brohm's record against him in the Heisman race, then I can use that same logic in saying that Ryan has a better shot to win the trophy than Woodson does...It's as simple as that.
October 26, 200718 yr Have you ever heard of this really obscure player named Paul Hornung? Sorry, I accidentally posted twice.
October 26, 200718 yr Typical response....Use Brohm's record against him to keep him out of Heisman talk, but that doesn't work for Woodson. Silly me.... I never said Brohm didn't deserve a shot at it, he puts up great numbers, has a terribel D. But lets be realistic, his schedule allows his numbers to be great as well, but he still has to make the plays and he does, credit to him. But with 4 losses it would be almost impossible for him to be in consideration amongst the others. The thread was comparing Ryan and Woodson, Ryan didn't play like the best player in the nation tonight to me, you have to play more than 4 minutes to steal my attention. A catch on the onside kick and this story would be mute and that was out of Ryans hands. To me it looked like you were discrediting Woodson for having 2 losses and praising Brohm yet he has 4. Go figure. Any BLIND man could see that UK is a legit team that could beat almost anyone, behind that one man leading them....Woodson.
October 26, 200718 yr I think Woodson has already established himself as a legend. How many big games does it take for him to bring the team from behind? Last time I checked it's been awhile since his defense holds a top 10 team under 2 TD's! If he gets defensive performances like that then he already has it locked up! Ryan look awful all night long until the 4th quarter. He showed me something....... he needs to be calling his own plays in a 2 minute setting instead of his O.C.
