2 Undefeateds for Championship?

Featured Replies

If there are only 2 undefeateds at the end of the season, should they play for the national championship, no matter who they are?

This could very easily happen.

Say those 2 teams are South Florida and Boston College...This is not far fetched. South Florida's toughest opponent is out of the way and even though BC's schedule looks tough the rest of the way, we all know the ACC is not what it used to be. I look for both teams to lose, but I was just wondering, what if it did happen? I think the BCS committee would get some interesting mail.

as long as one of them isn't Hawaii I'm cool with it.

^ Me too....if they are both from BCS conferences, I say it is their's to play for.

haha..I like your thinking

Not necessarily. I think you have to take a look at their schedules before you make that call.

If USF makes it undefeated I certainly feel they would deserve in. Take into account that the PC's like'em. The polls would be the only way to get them out.

I think the best two teams should play for the championship. This will not necessarily be two undefeated teams. The system is a joke but sure fun to watch.

It most certainly is.

I do not see an undefeated team from a major conference this year. I even feel LSU will lose one of their thirteen (including the SEC championship) games.

I agree with your comments but look at the remaining schedules for BC and USF.

BC

Oct. 13 at Notre Dame

Oct. 25 (Thurs.) at Virginia Tech*

Nov. 3 Florida State*

Nov. 10 at Maryland*

Nov. 17 at Clemson*

Nov. 24 Miami*

USF

Oct 13 UCF - - Tampa, Fla.

Oct 18 Rutgers * - - at New Brunswick, N.J.

Oct 27 Connecticut * - - at Hartford, Conn.

Nov 03 Cincinnati * - - Tampa, Fla.

Nov 10 Syracuse * - - at Syracuse, N.Y.

Nov 17 Louisville * - - Tampa, Fla.

Nov 24 Pittsburgh * - - at Pittsburgh, Pa.

BC's looks easier to go undefeated. IMO

I disagree. IMO, I think Cinn. is their toughest remaining opponent and they get that one at home. They could be double digit favorites in all of their remaining games.

as long as one of them isn't Hawaii I'm cool with it.

:thumb::thumb:Amen to that one.

If Cincy and Kansas are both undefeated and the only ones the BCS will put them in the game. They have no choice.

Well.. since 2/3 of the BCS is human polls, its pretty easy actually.

I don't see an undefeated Big12 team getting left out, but I can easily see UC losing out to a 1 loss team.
