October 10, 200719 yr Good coach, announcer not so good. You can be a former coach and be fairly biased, look no further than Lee Corso. He coached the ville and you don't here him picking them to win every game they play.

October 10, 200719 yr We were making fun of him last Thursday night about his 'motivational' speeches at halftime. Those are ridiculous. He brings nothing to the table as an analyst.
October 10, 200719 yr Anyone watch college game day last weekend and someone was holding up a sign in the back ground that said "Lou Holtz 4 Prethadent" made me laugh so hard
October 10, 200719 yr Author Anyone watch college game day last weekend and someone was holding up a sign in the back ground that said "Lou Holtz 4 Prethadent" made me laugh so hard I did see it :lol: I laughed out loud.
October 10, 200719 yr You're right, ND is horrible, but I didn't support your opinion. Both guys should be unbiased because it's nationally viewed. That was my point. This is college football, not presidential analysis. It is supposed to be fun(ny). He is there to provide entertainment and part of persona is to pick ND and S. Carolina every single week. His bias bleeds through enough nobody takes him seriously.
October 10, 200719 yr He is #1 and Bill Curry is #1A They are terrible! :madman: Mike Gottfried has to be included in there somewhere. I can't understand him half the time. He sounds like he has been out at the tailgate parties since 10 am before an evening broadcast.

Corso and Herbstreit provide me with lots of entertainment, and they analyze games in a fair, unbiased manner. If he's not to be taken seriously, then give him a miniature weekly blip, like Hammerin' Hank.
October 10, 200719 yr I can't help but like the man. My brother in law heard him speak years ago at a coaches conference / seminar and said that he was one of the better speakers that he had heard. (remember, that was years ago). Holtz ma be getting too old now and he messes up some of the things he says but the man has definately forgotten more football than most if not all of us on this board will ever know and he definately is more knowledgable than M. May and R. Davis on that show. I agree... Although he gets things mixed up and is getting old. The guy flat out knows football & I heard him speak once as well was awesome.

October 10, 200719 yr Mike Gottfried has to be included in there somewhere. I can't understand him half the time. He sounds like he has been out at the tailgate parties since 10 am before an evening broadcast. I used to like Mike Gottfied. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems like he's went from okay to terrible in just a couple years. As for Holtz, he's wearing thin. It seems like he talks for five minutes and I don't have a clue what he just said. Too much mumbling and ranting, while bringing nothing to the table (as was stated above).
