If they were ugly animals and "Bambi" had never been written, no one would care if they were shot.

I for one think they are WAY over populated and cause untold amounts of car accidents and deaths!!!!

If I was a hunter my tree-stand would be my patio. I can set there and shoot deer, and I live in a Subdivision!!!!

Open the hunt, protect the Human Teens Out driving coming home from evening jobs and activities!!!!

Killing those animals to me is the wrong thing to do there are plenty areas threw out Ky they should trap them an move the deer to another part of the state or even another state all together.

Deer Migrate with ease and do you realize it would be IMPOSSIBLE to get them all?

"Please don't shoot, I have a family too!" Mariah's sign pleaded above a picture of a deer.

"I don't think it is safe to walk to school with hunters around," Mariah said.

Many thought killing animals sent a bad message to children and posed safety hazards. Several residents used emotionally charged terms such as "killing field" and "war zone."

What are we teaching our kids? Do people in Fort Thomas, and possibly elsewhere, think these things about hunters?

Without hunting these, overpopulated, animals will suffer much:

1. They will have to compete for food, because there will not be enough food to go around.

2. They will be killed on roadways.

3 They will get hurt from foraging for food in residential areas.

Hunting will also protect people:

1 When food is scarce, the deer will become more brasin, as they are already, and venture into residential areas to find food. Deer can hurt people.

2. They will destroy private/public property while looking for food.

3. Thousands of people are hurt/killed every year in auto accidents caused by deer in the roadways.

Hunting is a natural process that has been going on for thousands of years, it feeds people and it thins animal herds. Studies have been done, and when hunting of certain animals, or hunting in certain areas has been banned; the population of that area/animal has decreased, due to starvation and decease. Hunters also, are the biggest, and in some areas, the only source of money for conservation. Without hunters in Kentucky, and the United States, conservation would not exist. Hunters kill animals, but hunters are the people who support those animals and keep the heard plentiful and strong.

Many people may say that hunters do not have to hunt for food, and sometimes that is true, and sometimes it is not. But, though the "Feed the Hungry" program, many families are fed through this program. Whole deer are process and packaged, then given to families in need of meat.

Please, if you do not hunt and have children, explain to them why people hunt and how important hunting is to animal population and to the safety of humans. Also, explain to them that hunters are not bad people and they should not fear people who hunt.

Funny thing is, if one of these deer were to trample a kid in Ft. Thomas people would complain about the city not doing anything. Boomgoesthecannon saw a 10-pointer in his side yard and hid from it. The buck heard him but wasn't afraid. He lives on one of the busiest streets in the city...

SHOOT THEM!

I'm hoping to invite Ted Nugent down when hunting season on North Ft Thomas Ave rolls around.

I think hunting is okay, in its proper setting. But this intra-city, hit squad plan is just ludicrous!

I can't believe so many people would be in favor of this idea. I think it's going to make us a national story--if it hasn't already--and not in a good way.

Mostly they migrate from my front yard to my back yard and then to my driveway all in the same day eating everything in site. It is pretty bad when you have to shoo them away so you can put your trash bag in your garbage cans. They move about 10 yards away and lay down again.

Let's see, I saw 7 of them tonight in my yard and 4 on my way home from work. Sometimes I think if I open the passenger car door and call them, they might hop in and go for a ride.

So you just let them take over the city instead. Smart. Maybe you can adopt one as a pet...
