September 24, 200719 yr Any idea who the 12th game will be? Perhaps a 1-AA team like Murray State? I'm pretty sure it will not be Eastern and I can't see a Western game either. Maybe a bigger D-1 school after the success of this season so far.
September 24, 200719 yr Maybe a bigger D-1 school after the success of this season so far. I'll be flat-out shocked if they play anything but a gimme given what they are replacing next year.
September 24, 200719 yr Maybe a bigger D-1 school after the success of this season so far. I'd like to see something with UC.
September 24, 200719 yr I'd like to see something with UC. I'm okay with two weak sisters per year. The third game should always be Louisville. I wish the fourth non-conference game would be a quality area opponent, maybe on a rotating basis. Perhaps Indiana, Cincinnati or Marshall.
September 24, 200719 yr They have a tough enough schedule as it is, I say put EKU on there! Depending on QB play next year, they could go 6-6, 7-5. Nothing better IMO.
September 24, 200719 yr Alot of schools have some breakout years then fall back. Can UK sustain this success or even close to it? What will the expectations for next year be? And the year after? Is Brooks dooming himself by having a really good year? UK fans notoriously have unrealistic expectations for the basketball team, will that carry over to football or does the lack of success for soo many years give them more leeway? UK will be top 10 next year, no matter what. The year after that, top 5.
September 24, 200719 yr Author UK will be top 10 next year, no matter what. The year after that, top 5.You really think that?
September 24, 200719 yr You really think that? No, just fitting into the stereotype as well as boosting my post total.
September 24, 200719 yr Next year depends on the QB, IMO...I think UK has some good RB's. I've been pleased with some of the underclassmen WR's as well, so I'm hoping they've got some guys who can step up as pass catchers, although there will almost certainly be a drop off. If UK could have another solid season and bowl appearance next year, it would be huge, IMO, for the building of this program.
September 24, 200719 yr UK will be very potent next year with Pulley at QB, the o-line is young and some good youngs backs & WR's. The defense should be better next year, kicking game better, bottom line expect a bowl game and around 7-5.

September 24, 200719 yr I'm not worried about next season at all right now. Lets look at this season. The Cats are on a roll and could very possibly be 6-0 heading into home matchups with LSU and Florida. If they earn a split in those two games, they could have a shot at the SEC title game. If they lose both of those games, they still are 6-2 with some very winnable games remaining on the schedule. Who cares about next season? Let's roll with a 4-0 team and two winnable games on the horizon. Go Cats!!!

They could also play well and lose 3 straight...that's a really brutal stretch, IMO, I challenge anyone to find a tougher 3 game stretch from any schedule...people seem to be overlooking South Carolina for some reason, but winning @ South Carolina will be as difficult as beating Florida at home, IMO. The Gamecocks are for real. Take a way a Spurrier's ill-advised decision to go for it on 4th and 1 from his own 30 in the 3rd quarter and give LSU 3 points instead of 7 on that fake FG and we could have been watching a 17-10 game late in the 4th. I know, I know...give LSU credit and they absolutely deserve it. They're clearly one of the two best teams along with USC at this point, and South Carolina wasn't overwhelmed in Baton Rouge. They weren't as good as LSU, but they were far from outclassed. Personally, I think UK has a chance to beat anybody, but LSU is a long shot. I think South Carolina and Florida are definitely more realistic. If we can get through that stretch at 6-2, I'll be elated. :thumb:

We have a good team. I think LSU is a stretch, but Florida is beatable ( just ask Ole Miss and Benjarvus Green-Ellis)
