At Henderson Co, Barry "bang-bang" Skaggs still holds single season & carear rushing records. He played 75-77 i think. However, had he not gotten hurt and missed out on his senior season in 06, i think Cedric Rainey woulda challenged for that. We have had some good ones here, Damon Carter in 91,Jonathan Jackson in 98, Alex Fendric in 02 to name a few!

 

I remember when Skaggs was a monster in the playoffs against Franklin Co. He was special.Did he ever get a chance to play after being injured his Senior year?:thumb:

Sorry about that. I just remember hearing the guy's name and remembering heaaring he was pretty good. Like I said, I was just a kid.

 

But he probably would've made an excellent running back if he would have been put there.

Solid list, DD. Pitz was more of a slot guy who also would run the ball which is why he ended up playing WR for Dayton.

 

The best pure running back would go to Melvin if I had to vote. Duvall was very good as well.

I would have to say the early 90's combo of ... Darren Fite and Curtis Mackley ... They made one heck of a backfield. Both were big and bruising runners.

St. Xavier....

 

1. Victor Anderson - All time leading rusher for the Tigers. Quickness and speed were tools he excericsed on many a defense. Very elusive and difficult to bring down with out giving up another 7 yards after contact.

 

2. Tendi Charisika - Speed and Power that left defenses reaching for his shoes. A bruser of a runner. Would make you pay for the tackle, if you were to get a chance to bring him down. Tremendous leg strength...

 

3. Dicky Lyons - Never saw him play yet his legend remains.

 

4. Mark Paslick - Had a very nice balance of speed and power. Broke several long gainers. Extremely consistent and very strong in running north and south.

 

5. Several others qualify for this spot...
