Maroon Fan
Coach Hines-PC. Has these kids on a roll. Also doing it w/ young players. PC plays alot of Sophmores & a couple of freshmen on Varsity. This team has matched its total wins over the last 2 years(4) in only 4 games this year. Hearsay
Griffiths at Green County certainly merits consideration. Jeff Robbins at Marion County has taken a perennial doormat and turned them into an undefeated and feared opponent in two seasons.
Green Nation
Griffiths at Green County certainly merits consideration. Jeff Robbins at Marion County has taken a perennial doormat and turned them into an undefeated and feared opponent in two seasons. Russell has a great coach. I remeber the year he beat Catholic. Look up the schedule to see how tough it was. Total combined record for all schools they have played is 4-15. Two of those schools are winless. I also looked up some other teams and their record might be 5-0 but is was against not so good competition. Catholic is 3-2 but the two teams they got beat by Evansville Reitz 5-A in IN is 5-0 and ranked #2 and Catholic got beat by Owensboro 5-A #4 in KY. After that they beat a South Spencer team 3-2 Apollo 2-2 and Hancock 1-3.
Log Mountain Boy
I think Dudley Hilton is running away with the award at this point. Seriously, I would think the coach from Lone Oak should be considered. Also Mike Holcomb. The coach at Montgomery Co. has done a great job. But it is WAAYYY too early to get a good idea who it will be.
swforever
I would have to say if he keeps on rolling Coach Hines from PC should be in the mix.
footballfool
I would go with Higgins @ Fern Creek, bigtime turnaround, or Haskins at Lone Oak. Lots of guys could go on the short list this year though.
ladiesbballcoach
Nothing to comment on the thread but I thought it was funny for Coach of the Year to be the title with Charlie Weiss being linked to it.
Sandman32
They got 84 points but on them against Frankfort, does he know how to coach defense? You are thinking of the score versus Bracken County not Gallatin.
hector
Johnny Hines from Pulaski Co. gets my vote.
go purple flash
Before Jack Haskins arrived at Lone Oak in 2004, They only had 1 winning season in the last 20 years. Since his arrival, 6-5 in 2004, 5-5 in 2005 & 5-5 in 2006. This year he now stands at 4-0 & has an excellent shot at finishing 10-0 or at least 9-1. Bronco99
Griffiths at Green County certainly merits consideration. Jeff Robbins at Marion County has taken a perennial doormat and turned them into an undefeated and feared opponent in two seasons. I went to college with Jeff Robbins and he is a great guy who cares about the kids he coaches. He has done a great job at Marion Co and should definately be considered. Good Job Jeff from those who know you in McCreary County! If he doesn't get on here please pass my message on to him!
FTBIGBIRD
I nominate the coach from Bishop Brossart who in their first year have taken a beating but still fill up the stands and he has gotten these people excited about football. Its easy to say "Dale Mueller should be with the best team in the state and being currently undefeated," but he didn't exactly inherit a bad team. He has taken a great program and made it even better by bringing in the right coaching support staff. I do however, give it up to all of those coaches that are starting from scratch. When you have to practice in the dirt parking lot of the fairgrounds, you are developing some tough young men!!! Good luck and I hope to see one of your games this year Mustangs!!!:thumb:

EKUAlum05
How about some love for the Woodford County head coach? The Yellowjackets have consistently improved over the past few years, and now are sitting pretty at 5-0 and in the driver's seat of a pretty competitive district.
