September 2, 200719 yr The 'Cats looked pretty sharp tonight... The kicking game must improve... Everything else looked about as good as I could expect. Woodson passed for three touchdowns... One to Smith, one to Lyons, and one to Burton. Dixon ran for two scores, Smith had one, and Little had one as well.
September 2, 200719 yr Author Most of the time UK was getting good position to start their drives, partly because of good returns and partly because EKU wasn't kicking it very far... Little muffed a punt, and that's the only real complaint I have with that game... He should've called for the fair catch but he wanted to try to make something happen.
September 2, 200719 yr Looking at just the boxscore, EKU rushers avg. more than 5 yds per carry. UK must improve on that aspect of the game.
September 2, 200719 yr Woodson loked good.... Probably could of threw for 300+ but the dogs were called off..
September 2, 200719 yr Excellent game and win for the Cats tonight. On a side note - it was good to see former Raceland h.s. "O" coordinator in the U.K. coaches booth. Gerad Parker is now a graduate assistant at U.K. and on the football staff.
September 2, 200719 yr Looking at just the boxscore, EKU rushers avg. more than 5 yds per carry. UK must improve on that aspect of the game. Imo there is always room for improvement but it is great to get off with a "W". I am sure the problems/mistakes will be addressed this coming week. :thumb:
September 2, 200719 yr UK has THREE STUD RB's and the 4th looked good too! Smith was explosive hitting the holes! I thought Eastern ran the ball pretty well which is bad news in the SEC. We can score with the majority of teams in America though I think. It was nice to see UK finally spank a team that they should take to the woodshed. Teams like this have given us fits in the past.
September 2, 200719 yr Well I think the UK defense didn't try as much as they would if it was Florida with the run game but the offense looked awesome. UK has a lot of depth on the running game. Woodson looked sharp and so did Hartline. Defense will probably be a lot more physical, being it'll be the game before Louisville!
September 2, 200719 yr I thougt the CATS looked fairly sharp! Good lookin Offense and much better "D" I believe...Hope it carry's over to the Ville game!:ylsuper:
September 2, 200719 yr One positive I saw from the defense was EKU had numerous 3rd and shorts and the Cats seemed to stop them more often than not. Good showing, but it was EKU.....Not a whole lot can be taken from this game IMO.
