Think...sooner.
The Tigers do not usually have the offensive fire-power Trinity has. The Rocks have averaged 44 points a game since Mr. Beatty took over.

This may resemble last season's Trinity/Henry Clay playoff game. I believe a three TD victory will be about right for Trinity.

There is an all you can eat spaghetti supper in the school cafeteria, just on the other side of parking lot, prior to the game.

Believe me when I tell you that I know the difference between Trinity's balanced attack and X's ground oriented attack. My point was that folks were expecting blowout wins by X both years and I predicted close games both years. And against Trinity, I am predicting a tighter game than most...and I'm not the only one predicting this. I could be wrong, but that is my opinion.

I hope that this clears up any confusion you had about my original post.

I just hope the defense tightens up a little more, Boyle County moved the ball with ease against BG and if not for some timely turnovers and dazzling returns that game is closer than the score indicates. I would think that Trinity's offense is significantly better than Boyle County's but I don't now for sure. I wish nothing but success to my beloved Purples and hope that it is a close game that Oldham gets a chance to shine at the end. Maybe for once good old BG can beat a private school. We own the publics.

:sssh: ;)  YIPPPPEEEE!!!! I guessed it.
I did not say that.

BUT...if I had...and if that were true...you KNOW what it would mean! With you all coming in, this would automatically qualify as an officially-unofficial "BGP Happening in Da Ville"!

By the way, does this qualify for thread jacking? LOL

No, it was thread-borrowing. Very subtle difference.

I'm really nervous about this game. After watching film of Bowling Green, I think they may be the second best team Trinity will face all year and the third best team in the state. The wide receiver, Moore, is as good or better than Boyd at Henry Clay. Trinity has it's toughest times against teams that run a wide open offense WITH top notch athletes.

A cursory review of the Top 50 players in the state shows the following BG players:

Jared Carpenter, Bowling Green 6-0 195 Sr. RB/DB

D.L. Moore, Bowling Green 6-6 185 Sr. WR/DB

Ryan Wallace, Bowling Green 6-5 230 Sr. TE/DE

Trinity has a very inexperienced secondary, that will have to find a way to throttle Moore and Wallace. Hopefully Wallace won't be flexed much, so Weitlauf and Weiting can contain him.

Having a game under your belt is a huge advantage, and with Trinity having so many new starters, this is recipe for an upset. I do think the Rocks win, but not by as many as people have been projecting.

Trinity 31

BG 23

Gosh it gets old hearing the purple faithful talk about dominating the publics but getting waxed in the state finals by the privates. As best that I can tell BG has every advantage a private school has plus the bonus that warren county has no private high school to draw players from BG's county wide draw. Owensboro looses players to Ocath. Louisville publics loose players to Trinity and X. Lexington publics loose players to Lexcath and Lexchristian. Highlands to Newcath and Beechwood, Dixie and BooneCo. all have residents playing for CovCath. In Warren co. for just 165 to 175$ per year your son or daughter can choose to not attend your county school and go out of district to become a purple. Traditionally over 60 percent of BG's players are from out of district. How competitive would BG be without out of district players? My guess is not very. So please stop with the private /public whining and continue to compete as best you can against the best private and public competition in the state. Now that I have that off my chest after watching BG give up 390 yards to Boyle Co, I predict Trinity will win by at least 21 points. I did really like BG's new passing attack but I think that may go up in smoke as well if Trinity can put some pressure on BG's quarterback. MY prediction Trinity 28 BG 7.
