If Dayton can limit the turnovers and the D keeps up the good work I would have to go with the Devils in a close one 20-13

Dayton will prevail in this close game... due to fired-up 'Devils who believe in their coach.

I don't know if Dayton will be as fired up for Scott as they were for Holmes...

That will probably be a good thing for Dayton, the over-emotion of the Holmes game hurt Dayton in my opinion (turnovers, forced plays, etc.). When they settle down and focus, they should actually be better.

I think Dayton played a good game against Holmes especially coming back at the end. Dayton has some speed at the corner and in the backfield. Joe Wynn is very fast and covers alot of ground. I do however think that Scott's defense is far better than Holmes, they have very hard hitting linebackers especially the Forrester Cousins. Scott gave up alot of points in their 1st game but don't be fooled by that. Scott's offense is loaded with talent and can move the ball and if they limit their turnovers they will put up some points against Dayton.

I think this comes down to limiting turnovers for both teams and that will decide your winner. Scott has more weapons on offense than Dayton does. However Dayton does have 2 explosive players in Wynn and Brummet but not much after that. Scott has receivers that will catch about anything thrown their way if it is close especially Hankinson who had 8 catches for 146 yards and 2 td's in their 1st game. Spencer who is a speed deamon had 2 td's one on a run and the other one on a kick-off return. Deck who had a few interceptions in the first half looked very strong in the second half finished with 4 td's 3 passing and 1 running.

Dayton fans should not think this is going to be an easy win because Scott is much better than they were last year.

Spoken like someone that saw a film or two of Dayton. I agree that Dayton shouldnt think just because they beat Holmes that Scott will lay down. Especially playing out in Taylor Mill. Dayton if they can come back and beat Scott on their home field would be very impressive, in fact much more impressive than beating HOlmes on their home field. I predict Scott will eek this one out though and Dayton will definitely earn more respect across NKY as a solid small school team.

Lets face it, at the end of the day, talent for talent the Dayton boys should be proud. The size of schools they are playing, there is no reason those teams shouldnt develop good playes and some quality depth.

I'll go out on a limb here and say Scott by just a little just because this is a prediction thread. Scott put up 41 points but it was against an Anderson County that had posted a 6-4 record in 2006 and did not even make the playoffs.

Then again, I wouldn't be suprised at all if Dayton pulled this one out. I truley believe that this will be a toss up game. I'm picking Scott just because of school size.

I know its' kind of stupid, but like I said before, this game is truley a toss up in my opinoin.

I picked Dayton in the contest, so I will stick to that.

I see what your saying cause they are bigger but they are a senior team just like Dayton. Looks like they dont have much depth either. I saw there Anderson County game and in the second quater on Scott was already cramping up. They will half to be in better shape to win this week. Scott has some speed but i think Dayton will have there way but its not going to be easy if Dayton takes them lightly Dayton might be going home with an L is the lose column.

Didn't Scott give up 57 points to Anderson County? Last I checked they aren't a juggernaut in Central Ky....Coach Deaton has the boys in Green believing! I'll take Dayton 28-14.

Ya, they did score 47 points but as big mac said they also gave up 57. Scott Seams to be struggling on the D' side of the ball. Exactly where Dayton was having strength last week. I think if Dayton can fix the in-consistency on O' I think there D' will shut down the Eagle's

I got to give Scott the edge in this one, their home opener...

Scott 21

Dayton 17

Unlikely Dayton will end up with 17.....that would require a field goal, and that may be asking alot:D

Is my boy Fisk still coaching at SHS? He is a great guy and developer of young kids. Not sure what Deaton can do with the team that Lickert gave him. Obviously, Lickert's work paid off in Dayton. Good to see Former Birds coaching. Just makes me feel old. GO BIRDS!!!

Yes he is. He is in his 3rd year now.

Yes he is and is doing a real good job with the kids. You can see the diffrence in the kids each year since he took over.

?:D? The only thing funny is 17. to low, Dayton will have more than that.
