I would go with Ellis because I think the first game jitters will be gone and the fact that the Holmes secondary can make plays at times might have been in the thought process of maybe forcing things a little. Plus he is the better runner IMO. But that doesn't mean I wouldn't let Sherlock take a series or two or even bring him in if facing a third and long.

By the way, your right. If Dayton can beat Holmes there is no reason they can't beat Scott if they stay focused.

I think Dayton played a good game against Holmes especially coming back at the end. Dayton has some speed at the corner and in the backfield. Joe Wynn is very fast and covers alot of ground. I do however think that Scott's defense is far better than Holmes, they have very hard hitting linebackers especially the Forrester Cousins. Scott gave up alot of points in their 1st game but don't be fooled by that. Scott's offense is loaded with talent and can move the ball and if they limit their turnovers they will put up some points against Dayton.

 

I think this comes down to limiting turnovers for both teams and that will decide your winner. Scott has more weapons on offense than Dayton does. However Dayton does have 2 explosive players in Wynn and Brummet but not much after that. Scott has receivers that will catch about anything thrown their way if it is close especially Hankinson who had 8 catches for 146 yards and 2 td's in their 1st game. Spencer who is a speed deamon had 2 td's one on a run and the other one on a kick-off return. Deck who had a few interceptions in the first half looked very strong in the second half finished with 4 td's 3 passing and 1 running.

 

Dayton fans should not think this is going to be an easy win because Scott is much better than they were last year.

Dayton has more then Wynn and Brummet with Speed at the recievers with Turner,Young,Brownfield. Also there return team in good broke about 3 for almost td's. The turnover situation and Qb controversy will be silenced this week. But from what i hear Wynn used to go to Scott so should be interesting to see what happens. Also Daytons defense is quick mean and aggresive with a good D-line and linebackers and the Db's are quick and should be able to handle the speed of the scott wr's. Dayton wins 28-14

Dayton's senior led group stuck together to overcome adversity last friday night. This is a mature and experienced group. They will be focused for Scott. This group is on a mission. Dayton by a touchdown!

I see this game being alot more of a low scorer than the anderson county game. Devils holding an impresive speedy Holmes O' to 19 points i dont see this game going into the 'thirty's"

Nice one sticky. Thats the only prediction where someone took into consideration the PAT problems from last week. I think the Devils will pull this one out by 13.
