This looks to be a major rebuilding year for Cov. Cath. At Nippert on Saturday the offense was very bland. No more wide open run and gun. Three yards (or less) and a cloud of whatever kind of particulate dust rises from FieldTurf. Take the Breds on Saturday in a mild upset.

Welcome to BGP, Flotsam.

Sincerely,

Jetsam

Cov Cath will win this match-up easily. Nothing against NCC, but Cov Cath needs this one more than NCC. Cov Cath vs. Ryle scrimage was a pretty close contest - big men against big men. IF Cov Cath can get the passing game rekindled from last year... they should man handle the breds from Newport.

You're wrong, CCH needs to start winning the following week which will elude them then too.:D

JK Good Luck Colonels.

Should be a good game, CCH lost to a very very good team with more than one D-1 Player, so its not like they lost to the little sisters of the poor. Lasalle would have made most NKY teams look bad

The 2001 game wasn't even a close game but anyway CCH comes back and wins by 10

Yes, it was. NewCath was driving to tie the game with around 3 minutes left and threw an INT at the 15. CovCath scored a TD with about 30 sec. left that made the score larger.

While I think this game is probably a toss-up, I'm giving the edge to NewCath.

Hope I'm wrong, but as UKFan16 will tell you, I wasn't far wrong on Saturday afternoon.

Hoping Isler (if he indeed is starting) can get some time and orchestrate a couple of solid scoring drives. You just can't ask the defense to be on the field all day and be able to hold up; just asking too much.

NewCath has more than a few players going both ways, so that should not be as big of a factor as it is against La Salle who does one platoon.

I think CovCath will win this game. While the small schools had some success this past weekend, I still feel the big schools have a huge advantage. And no disrespect to Dixie, CovCath has used that advantage to its benefit in the past and will do so against NCC.

As for their loss to LaSalle, I expected a closer game. LaSalle is not, by GCL standards, a good team this year. I was somewhat surprised by the margin of loss. If Newcath wins this game by anything other than a fluke, the folks in Park Hills definitely need to have worries. But again, I don't think that's going to happen.

CCH was completely manhandled by LS. They wont face a tougher team on their schedule this year. This group of seniors better wake up or it will be a long season if they dont win this week. This lasalle team who returned most of last year's team lost 14-7to St. X last year and lost to Elder 34-35. LaSalle is going to be a tough opponent for all of the GCL schools. With this said, NCC is a team that CCH can beat. Good luck Colonels.

Mex ,There were very few players that played both ways extensively Saturday night . I saw a platoon system throughout the game .

That was with Buckley though, correct?

If NCC is going to get CCH, it's gonna be this year.

NCC 22

CCH 20

I've heard conflicting reports about this game....as far as start times.

I have heard some say it's going to start at 1 p.m. and others say that it could start at 7 p.m. due to the lights being put up.

Just wanted to know if anyone can confirm the actual start time (I know the KHSAA scoreboard site has it starting at 1 p.m.) because if it's at 1 p.m. then I'll most likely be there to watch this game before I head on down to US Bank Arena for the WWE TV tapings.

CCh does not have lights and does not have permission from Northern Ky Area Planning to put up temp lights this coming weekend.

I played it that game and the score dosen't show how much of a beating cch put on ncc but that game has nothing to do with this one which should be a good game

Should be a very good game. It comes down to which Offence on either team steps up and produces points. Newcath in a close game by 3.
