add to that, people who do not put their phones on silent in meeting, movies, banquets, etc.

1. People who sue everyone looking to get rich quick

2. Taxes

3. Removing all forms of punishment and competition from the public school classroom.

4. Religious people and institutions who see the speck in the eye of another but can't see the plank in their own eye.

5. Not the basics of it, but the overboard, negative implementation of Title 9 (ex - having to cut the wrestling team because there aren't enough female athletes to balance the numbers...)

6. The KHSAA Board of Control.

7. 10th region fans who don't admit that Mason has an advantage by hosting the regional tournament every year.

8. Referees who steal the show.

9. Overzealous parents at ballgames.

10. Teams using the gym who don't have to be in there for equipment purposes. I once heard my high school coach tell the cheerleading sponsor, "I'll tape the lines down in the cafeteria for you to practice in there, and we'll practice in there when you put up the goals and backboards for me."

 :ylsuper: Now that is funny.

I have two pet peeves in life.

1. People who dont make good guests.

I cant stand it when people dont make good house guests.

2. Women and their lack of time concept.

I could tell my girl today that she needed to be at my house at 7pm on september 23rd 2007 and she would still be late. This kills me.

The fact that there is a law requiring car drivers and riders to wear seatbelts (I was pulled over and given a warning for this last week) - while the law was changed so that motorcycle riders don't have to wear helments. I don't mind the seatbelt thing as a secondary offense (like if you're pulled over for speeding it can be added on to the fine) but it irked me to get pulled over for this offense alone.

- People who think Coach Hicks can actually get someone a job at Toyota if they have a good player for a kid. Toyota has helped with population growth and with paying LOTS of taxes to the school system, but that's it - heck, Coach Hicks drives a 1992 Nissan truck that is about rusted through... you would think they'd have hooked him up with a Tundra by now.

- BGP posters who

a. don't make sense,

b. spell horribly,

c. use words incorrectly like their, there, and they're, loser and looser, etc.

d. steal threads away from their original intent and head in another direction.

e. start posts with IMVHO - no one on here is humble in their opinion... we all paid $$$ to be able to express it!

f. make statements without backing them up with reasons and/or facts.

I have never understood this as well and agree with you.

My wife is terrible at this. I can tell her days in advance and it does not matter.

Why can't people get ready early and just hang out for a while until it is time to go?

I could ask my wife if she wanted to go to Africa and she would ask when...If the answer is next year she will say yes. But if I say let's go to Natural Bridge (20 minutes away) to eat tonight...she will say it is too far away. Future long distance promises and piles of gold in the future are what get me.

When somebody hits your car in the parking lot then leaves the scene without leaving a note or anything (except the dent in your car)...

I don't like it when people talk, talk ,talk ,about golf ,knowing I don't like it.

:irked:

1. Littering. More specifically I cannot stand when I am stopped at a stop light and I see hundreds of cigarette butts littering the ground. I also cannot stand when people flick their lit cigarettes out of their car windows. Why would someone think such an action is okay? I wish police officers would crack down on litterers in general. I hate seeing neighborhoods tarnished by any litter, but for some reason, it is the cigarettes that really make my skin crawl.

2. It bothers me when people say "I could care less" when it really should be "I couldn't care less." Obviously, if you "can care less" you have a lesser degree of caring that could exist, which of course doesn't make much sense.

3. As I stated in a previous thread, I'm an obsessive editor when it comes to my writing. That said, I can't stand it when a typo or grammatical error slips through my editing process and I don't realize it until it's too late to fix it.

4. I just caught some of the "America's Next Top Model" marathon on MTV, so I am now adding anything having to deal with modeling on my list of pet peeves. Some of the judges comments were absolutely ridiculous. One such statement was: "Your eyes are not expressive enough." What in the world does that mean? Many of the girls' poses were exactly the same, so I had no idea why they were dissing some of the girls, but praising others on their ability to "express" themselves. One judge also stated the following to a girl: "You need get your body into better shape. You don't have a typical runway model's body." This was said to a girl that was probably a size 3 at most. Also, the stupid makeup/hair and wardrobes that the girls were subjected to just made me shake my head in disgust. I guess I just don't get the whole modeling scene.

Women who leave the toilet seat down.

I agree with you on that.

When someone is checking out at a store and they are talking on the phone.

Mine is:

Drinking all of the tea then putting the pitcher back in the fridge.

People stopping in the middle of the road to have a conversation(may not happen anywhere else but in Mt. Olivet it happens everyday)

Leaving the lights on in a bedroom when not in there.

 I agree with you there people stop in the middle of the street in M.O everytime I go thru there, it's not like there isn't parking spaces like at the bank in at a store they could pull into to bump there gums about what ever it is they feel they have to talk about or their life is over.

I can't stand when people don't pull over for a funeral going by!

I always do that even if I'm in my work truck. It's all about respect for the family and the deceased.
