August 10, 200719 yr Being from Pikeville, you should know all about what mine is... It's along your same line of thinking. The people will pull out right in front of you making you slam on your brakes, and then they'll turn off 50 yards down the road. It irks me more than I can explain. Happens to me all the time back home...ARGGGHHHH It kills me.
August 10, 200719 yr What about Junk mail!!!!! I had to go out a buy me a shreddar just to destroy junk mail for "You have qualify for X amount of Dollars on our our credit card". :fire: Another one for me is after a long day at work and settinging down at the supper table you get phone calls from telemarketers. :fire: Just a suggestion..... Most "junk mail" you receive has a return envelope with no postage required (prepaid). Just take all the other stuff in the envelope and put it in the return envelope and send it back to them. Then they get the fun of opening the "junk mail" and they are charged for the postage.
August 10, 200719 yr I have many: I can't stand it when I see someone park in a handicap parking spot, WITH the proper handicap parking decals/identification, but when they get out it is OBVIOUS they don't need the handicap access at all. It makes me want to break their leg or something so that they are in the proper parking spot. I hate when someone passes me on a two lane then turns left off the road just seconds later. I can't stand to listen to people smacking their lips while eating. When the light turns green and the car in front of me just sits there and I notice that the person is talking on a cell phone (usually a woman of course), I get a bit perturbed. Slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwww foursomes on the golf course (usually women), who won't let us play through. Pre-recorded telemarketing calls. The sight of people eating carrots and most other root-based food products bothers me for reasons I can't really understand.

It makes me want to break their leg or something so that they are in the proper parking spot.////// Please be open minded about this one. Before PH had his legs amputated and some other things done, he, with a disabled Vet license plate, would park in the handicap spot. Now, there were many times that when he got out of the car, after driving us there, he would appear that nothing was wrong with him. More often than not, when we would get back to the car, I would drive and it was quite OBVIOUS that he did have a disability. Mine are: People parking in handicap spots without proper decals. People not stopping for ambulance, funeral, police, etc...when lights are on. listening to someone's problems when I don't know them. Yesterday, I was waiting for PH to have his surgery and people were telling me all of there problems from bills, kids, marriages, etc. I explained that I was really sorry for them, however, my husband is in surgery for the nineth time since Dec. I really don't want to hear about anyone elses problems. I was nice about it and all...but then, boom, here comes another person with money problems, etc. I love to help people...that is why I got into the profession that I did, however, NOT at a hospital. People talking to there little kids like trash. Cussing at them, threatening them, etc. Kids remember that and it really does not help the situation. I heard a lady at the hospital who's two year old was going in for surgery yesterday. The kid wanted some candy from the vending machine. The lady told the kid she was sick of him and she could not wait until he was put under....he was a brat, etc. I started talking with him and getting his mind off of it....he was fine after that. I told her that she was very lucky to be able to have children and this must be really tough for him to go through, as well as her. I told her she must be under a lot of stress, however, her child does not fully understand why he can't eat or drink and they really should not put these machines in a waiting room where people can't eat or drink before surgery. I have some others, however, I can't really think of them right now, and I am sure there are things I do that other people don't like either. I always try to be polite and understanding. I wish other people would also!!! I think that some people just do not care about others at all. I am really happy to say that all that I know on BGP are wonderful and I wish all of society could act like us!!! OH....a BIG one. Going into any place where counters are too high and people in wheel chairs can not reach anything!!! That is not fair to people with disabilities.
August 10, 200719 yr I have never, ever seen a car pull over on a 4 lane road with a funeral procession going in the opposite direction. I don't believe that by not pulling over, you are being disrespectfull. Now, if you join the procession just to get through traffic, then that is the ultimate disrespect, and one of my MANY pet peeves. Please Read Post #21...If I did not Pull over I Personally feel I would be Disrespecting the Family that is in Mourning...
August 10, 200719 yr How about when you're driving and let someone turn in front of you, when you have the right-of-way and they do, but can't even throw up a hand or say thanks....

I am only talking about the obvious ones, because people parking in handicap spots that shouldn't is a general pet peeve also. By obvious, I mean hopping out of the car and sprinting into the store, etc. In some of the cases, I have actually known the person and know that they must be driving a relative's or friend's car or just somehow obtained a decal they shouldn't have. Hopefully, this clarifies my previous comment.
August 10, 200719 yr How about when you're driving and let someone turn in front of you, when you have the right-of-way and they do, but can't even throw up a hand or say thanks.... And similarly, when you hold a door open for someone to walk through and the person makes no acknowledgment whatsoever.
August 10, 200719 yr And similarly, when you hold a door open for someone to walk through and the person makes no acknowledgment whatsoever. When that has happened to me I usually go ahead say Your Welcome in a sarcastic way.:thumb:
August 10, 200719 yr Waitress's that call you " sweetheart " or " darlin' "or some other term of endearment just because you have a little grey in your hair . You know they don't mean it.
August 10, 200719 yr I can't stand when people don't pull over for a funeral going by! Never heard of that one . Not a northern Ky custom thats for sure . We will have a mototcycle escort stop side traffic in the direction that the cortege is traveling but as far as pulling over to let them pass . Nope .
August 10, 200719 yr I hate when you're stopped to turn left and people go off the road to go around you..

For me it's that Kind of Respect when at a Sports event they Pause for a Moment of Silence for the person who has Passed and for the family...So I always Pull over for a Minute of silence...To me that is being respectful...:thumb:

I just get kind of defensive because people used to get really mad at us for parking there....especially when our foster kids were little because he would race them to the store door. But boy, by the time we came out of the store, he sometimes was in one of the store scooters. But, yeah, if you know the people, and know they don't deserve it, that is bad. Here in Bowling Green, if you are parking there and it is not your permit, you will still get a ticket.
