Pet Peeves

A pregnant woman who smokes.

People that use their turn signal and then turn in the opposite direction.

Paying cash for an item at the checkout and the clerk tells you they don't have enough cash in the register to give your change back.

Politicians at election time that suddenly want to be your friend.

1-People who pull out in front of you but then don't speed up, come on,,,,,,,If I pull out in front of someone, I smash the gas.

2- Cell phone conversations in a restaurant that drag on and on.

Sounds like we could have an entire thread devoted to driving behavior.

Here's a couple more that frustrate me:

People turning left who wait 20 yeards behind the intersection. Sometimes there are folks behind you that want the chance to turn left before the light changes.

People who take up four parking spots at the mall, WalMart, etc. If your car is that precious (and sometimes it is, I guess), park farther away and walk the difference.

People who are compelled to swing way left in order to make a right turn. Take a remedial driving class and learn how to make a right turn without making the better part of a left turn first.

I'm kind of surprised not to see any "toilet seat-related" peeves. I'm guessing that all of us BGP gentlemen exhibit proper water closet etiquette.

What about Junk mail!!!!! I had to go out a buy me a shreddar just to destroy junk mail for "You have qualify for X amount of Dollars on our our credit card". :fire:

Another one for me is after a long day at work and settinging down at the supper table you get phone calls from telemarketers. :fire:

I don't have that problem since I registered on the no call list many months ago.

People who chomp their lips when they eat.

People who buy furniture that says ready to assemble and then get mad when they have to assemble it.

People who ride my butt in the car!

I've got one. Non English speaking employees at hotel/motels. I have nothing against immigrants, aliens, whatever. But for goodness sakes, learn enough english to at least hand me a towel or send for maintenance if my key doesn't work.

You can pull over on a 4-lane road. It's a sign of disrespect not too.

I have never, ever seen a car pull over on a 4 lane road with a funeral procession going in the opposite direction. I don't believe that by not pulling over, you are being disrespectfull. Now, if you join the procession just to get through traffic, then that is the ultimate disrespect, and one of my MANY pet peeves.

I've noticed in my travels that it is mostly a rural custom. On narrow, curvy, country roads it was not only a sign of respect but a necessary courtesy to get out of the way so a procession could pass by unimpeded. It's just not necessary on modern 4 lane highways.

How about a BGP pet peeve? I hate making the last post before a thread dies. I always feel like I killed it or no one wants to talk to me. I try to tell myself I made the perfect, said it all, post and there is just nothing more anyone can add.

You just killed this thread.

Most of the really good ones have already been said, THANKS A LOT!

I agree with most of these, I believe this one was already taken, but I hate it when someone puts a gallon of milk back in the fridge and it is virtually empty.

For some reason my latest one involves the shower curtain being closed. Don't know when I became obsessed with this, but I hate going into the bathroom and the shower curtain being open.

I hate when your in Lexington or another big city, and there's an exit coming up so this car is in the right lane in which the exit is and only 1/4mile away, but gets over to the left lane to pass everyone then seconds later, crosses all lanes to barely make the exit he was wanting to take in the first place. IT KILLS ME WHEN PEOPLE CROSSES ALL THE WAY FROM THE LEFT LANE TO HIT AN EXIT!!!!!!!

People hurrying to run red lights, or at stop signs they don't stop, or someone pulls out in front of you and you look in the rear view mirror and there isn't a car for miles behind you, I mean really are you in that big of a dang hurry that you couldn't wait for one car to pass?

Being from Pikeville, you should know all about what mine is... It's along your same line of thinking. The people will pull out right in front of you making you slam on your brakes, and then they'll turn off 50 yards down the road. It irks me more than I can explain.
