Yes Hardball Somerset does have a Legion team. They are coached by Marty Mayer now instead of Gerald Hines. They are not the Twins anymore either, they are just simply Somerset Post 38. They have played just above .500 ball this summer, in some very tough tourneys. But do have enough live arms to contend at state if they come ready to play.

Starts Aug. 8-12 at Boyd Co. Larry Addington field, Pretty sure fridays games are gonna be played at Russell High School, because of a football scrimmage game at Boyd Co.

STATE tourney is at Boyd County High School. Starts Wed. August 8th at 11:00. Games are at 11 , 2 , 5 & 8 on Wed. , Thur., and at 11 and 2 on fri. the 5 and 8 games on friday are at a site yet to be determined. Saturday is back at BCHS at 2:00 and 6:00. Sunday will be at 3:00 if necessary

 

Bowling Green post 23 and Owensboro post 9 are in. They had their regional tournament this past weekend. The Somerset, Danville, Campbellsville Region is this weekend. They will play a round robin format. The paducah region is this weekend and the Ashland region is this weekend actually starting today (wed) in Shelbyville. Ashland plays a very pitching rich Oldham co. team at 5 and Shelbyville plays Carrolton co. at 8.

District 1 ... Paducah and Ken-Tenn won their first round games. They meet on Wednesday night, with the winner clinching a trip to Ashland.

Somerset and Danville won their first games of the round robin format. Someerset beat Campbellsville by a score of 25 to 20 . There were nine homeruns hit in the game and both teams had over 20 hits each. Danville beat Metcalf Co. by a score of 12 to 2 in seven innings.

Ashland defeated Oldham Co. 7 - 4 and Shelbyville won by forfeit when Carrollton Co. did not show up.

Paducah beat Ken-Tenn 12-2 in seven innings to punch their ticket to Ashland. Ken-Tenn (Fulton) and Tri-County (Calvert City) meet Thursday night to determine the other local entry to the state tournament.

Judging by the ridiculous score and number of homeruns, I'm assuming this game was played at Danville High School?

Post 31, is a solid team and Shaw, is an impressive RHP. I like the intensity, this team and coaching staff has.

I guess since Danville only scored 12 and Metcalfe only scored two runs that game had to have been played at a different site...
