Starbucks Raising Prices Again

Featured Replies

They were distributing it. Maybe Starbuck's sells some of their beans to Sysco.
You missed my post. Sysco has a five year contract with Starbucks to distribute Starbucks coffee and other products outside of the Starbucks chain.

cshs81, you need to thank Watusi for starting this thread, I just made my second visit to Starbucks today. Reading about it all day made me have to go get seconds...

Sysco is a Starbucks distributor.

But Sysco has their own coffee, too, I wonder if its the same beans.

Sysco sells a coffee package I am looking at (our cheap law firm) called "Stonebranch." I am wondering if the beans used re one and the same.

They also sell a brand called Citavo. I honestly don't know the answer to your question. I don't think any of them have coffee plantions, so they're probably buying the same coffee. I'm sure their people in Columbia are looking for particular grades and quality.
***sigh***

How much are you willing to pay for 1/4 hamburger? A 16 oz coke at McDonalds?

16 oz coke is half the price with unlimited refills. Just thought it interesting that people complain about $3 gas but not $30 coffee. But then, a gallon of coffee will get you further than a gallon of gas. :D

Now that will be $2.59 with the price hike, an increase of about $1 per gallon, making it $28 per gallon.

And that's using the low end of the range. :sssh:

You get unlimited refills in a drive thru transaction @ McDonalds? And, can you leave the store, and come back with your cup and get it refilled later? Or go to another McDonalds with the cup and have them refill it?

Nice try. Still much more of a value.

But, the answer is?????

There's no such thing as "unlimited" refills. There's always a limit.

And, value is in the priority one places on a commodity.

You still paying $2.75+/gallon for gas?

It's really not fair to compare unlike fluids on a per gallon basis. If you did, you get:

Folgers Coffee $0.70/gal

Kool-Aid $1.85/gal

Red Bull $30.69/gal

Head & Shoulders $37.74/gal

Renu contact lens solution $82.03/gal

Tabasco sauce $94.46/gal

vanilla extract $127.84/gal

Liquid Paper $198.40/gal

Penicillin $301.49/gal

Cover Girl nail polish $892.80/gal

Human blood $1,514.79/gal

black ink from an ink cartridge $2,701.52/gal

insulin $9,411.76/gal

Chanel No.5 perfume $25,600.00/gal

Thailand cobra venom $152,835.82/gal

scorpion venom $38,858,507.46/gal

I'd never give that much for human blood.

If I were a scorpion I'd be cashing in on that...:D

If Starbucks isn't successful, for instance:

Shareholders lose money

Stores cut staff or close (costs jobs)

Suppliers lose clients (lose money, cut jobs)

Transportation companies lose supplier to distributor clients (cut hours, lose jobs)

If the company that an individual works for doesn't make money, it will close. If it's the company you work for, I'm certain you want it to make money, otherwise you lose your job.

I work for the government, if we lose money, we just raise taxes, :p
