Greatest Guitarists of All Time

I'd like to know everybody's top 10 guitarists ever.

My list goes as follows:

 

1) Stevie Ray Vaughan

2) Duane Allman

3) Eric Clapton

4) Jimi Hendrix

5) BB King

6) Robert Johnson

7) Steve Vai

8) Jimmy Page

9) Slash

10) Dimebag Darrel

 

I'm sure I'm forgetting somebody that deserves to be on there. My top 6 are probably set in stone, good luck convincing me otherwise, but 7-10 are up for debate. ;]

If you're including other genres besides rock/blues, I would add John Fahey and Leo Kottke to the list. Some others that may not make an "all-time list" that I like are Mark Knopfler, Jan Akkerman, Lindsey Buckingham, Joe Satriani, Steve Howe, Ritchie Blackmore...

Richard Thompson should be on any list, as should Leo Kottke. Both could fairly be called virtuosos.

Eddie Van Halen wouldn't be in my top 20.

 

I forgot about Santana, who should probably be on there. Jeff Beck and Billy Gibbons could both be on there at any given time, depending on my mood.

 

But nobody will ever be better than Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Buckethead is def. nasty Cammando! I'd say most people only know of him through guitar hero. My personal favorite guitarist of all time, but one that won't win a lot of accolades is Tom Morello of Rage/Audioslave. VERY Innovative sound.
