9th region???

Featured Replies

I look for Ludlow to challenge Conner as well as Ashley Daughtry to challenge Long for POY. Ashley is small but stronger than probably any girl in the region. She'll get plenty on time on the floor playing PF along side both 6'+ players Caitlin Ottaway and Julie Hardin. They also have a great PG in Brook Jones who can flat shoot a 3. With these three teams will not be able to double team Ashley. This means she will either have an easy lay up or go to the line for 2. When they do double team with threats like Hardin, Ottaway, and Jones she will rack up assists. IMO Ashley will average atleast 15 pts., 10 boards, and 5 assists a game.

We will see!!!

Some very bold statements, POY, winning the region, WOW.

Not to disagree, good players and teams mentioned but when was the last time an underclassman won POY of the region. NCC did win the region a few yrs ago so the Class A school can do it but I don't think Ludlow has what NCC had(Jamie Thiem), if you know what I mean!

I can't help but notice that you failed to mention Senior guard Michelle Landrum. She was definitely an impact player last year. In my opinion, she will make an even bigger impact this upcoming season. Her speed and ability to shoot the three have really helped mold her into a legitimate threat that teams need to be concerned about. The more I think about the talent that Ludlow has this season, the more excited I become about watching the season unfold. Think about what Ludlow has to offer this year:

*A powerful inside game led by Ashley Daugherty with support from Julie Hardin and Caitlin Ottaway

*Superior speed and perimeter shooting by Brook Jones and Michelle Landrum

*Excellent leadership by Coach Stamm and his assistants

These three components will undoubtedly make Ludlow one of the best small schools in the region with the potential to possibly knockoff some of the traditional powerhouses. Hopefully these girls can overcome injuries that have plagued them in the off-season and make this the best season of Ludlow Girls' Basketball yet.

Landrum is one hack of a talent. She just sometimes lacks consistancy. When she is on I don't think anyone can stop her, but it seems if she misses her first couple of shots it takes her out of her game.

Thiem was one of the best talents that has come through the region in the last couple years and when she won player of the year and region she was a senior... they lost to boone in the finals when she was a junior

Okay I am confused  ..... Some Ludlow fans seem to think that they are the top dog in the hunt this year, but can you tell me how? I saw them play a very, very, young HHS team in the 9th Region first round game, and Ludlow got blown out of the gym (without HHS having Crowley). Now what didn't I see of that team, that you saw, that tells you, they will be a top dog this upcoming season? I saw a team that when it gets out of it's league, can't compete with the best teams and until I see them beat someone other than Dixie when it doesn't matter, you can count me from Missouri (the show me State)......

Being a fan is great and I applaud you, but......when they win a Ninth Region first round game, tell me about it then.....

OK, OK, Ludlow is a small school, so tell me when they win the 9th Region Touchstone All "A" Tournamemt.....:D

Enthusiasm for your team is great…but my goodness Ludlow fans. Many of us love to pull for the underdog; however, you are making it difficult. You are begging for the bullseye on your backs…be careful what you ask for. Let’s hope your coaches and players do not buy into your hype & arrogance. Overall, the region is down IMO so this is a perfect time for your best team in years, BUT get the job done first…and then talk smack.

Conner was without a doubt near the top of the region already. Now with the two transfers and getting Johns back (was transferring to Ryle) they are probably the favorite. I’m familiar with the power forward that transferred; however, I think IBALL may be sandbagging on his knowledge about the 6’1” transfer :)

Behrens will play a much bigger role at BC now that Brasseaux has moved. She is my early pick for POY. Long is one of the hardest workers so next year will probably be her year.

So, it is official that Brasseaux has moved. And, also will Findley be playing this year for Boone?

Brasseaux is leaving this weekend to start at her new school...and yes, Findley is playing. Findley and her family got a chuckle out of the rumor she wasn't playing.

Well, Findley playing is definitely good news for Boone. Who will fill Brasseaux's spot?

If it's true that some key players are leaving Boone County it seems the team to be beat is probably Highlands. Their 24 pt win over N.C, 17 point win over Ludlow and 15 point win over Holmes near the end of the season say a lot. The starting five for that group are back for 2 more years. With Allen being healthy, Towles who is now 6' plus and Mallory Adler's speed they are going to be tough to handle. A year of maturity will help these girls finish off games they didn't last year.

INDAZONE Who is the power forward?

IBALL is the one you are not telling us about from Southwestern high school?

Flatrock,

Not unless that family is planning a big suprise present for us! I don't know of any Southwestern girl that is transferring to Conner.
