No just being facetiuos to the OLDGUY. That someone can make a general statement about there being 1 to 3 teams a year competing for a regional title and he feels the need to try and disprove their opinion.

The fact is that it usually does comes down to 1-3 teams a year.

When was the last time a team outside of the ranked top 3 in the final polls won a title? Or a team outside the pre-season top 3 for that matter?

Flatrock, agree with what you are saying. As the old saying goes, you can do anything with statistics. By the way the last tme a team not in the top 3 at tourney time to win the region was 2005 when NCC was ranked 4th prior to the tourney.

Last I heard S. Miller was headed for Lexington or Louisville. That will make Dixie from what I know, which is not much, a pretty short team. They were scrappy and young last year but have lost Shaneese, Carmen, and the senior Forward. I don't know who they have coming up but, they may have a pretty tough year 2007/2008.

Watched alot of NDA and Boone games last year. Believe NDA will adjust and be quicker. Boone seems to be losing players from what I hear.

IMO, Boone is always favorite to win in NKY. Although they lost 3/4 starters, they still will put 2 of the best in NKY on the floor. Looks like the young ones get thrown into the fire early having only one Sr and a veteran Jr pt guard. Findley will really have to step up and play big this yr. Big question, who leads this talented team as they are all tooooooo nice of kids.

Let me amend this. If more talent decides to join the team, the new coach will have made an immediate impact.

3PT...after interviewing several candidates...an assistant has been hired. Also, an additional person will be helping out this year on an availability basis. I don't have any details other than this.

 

Ryle may not win the region this year, but the new coaches will make an immediate impact. There will be a whole new attitude.
