9th region???

Featured Replies

Sorry to burst your bubble Flatrock; however, the poll that was recently released was put together back in April...and was just released again. Boone was tabbed #1 when Findley, Brasseaux, and Sparrow were expected to be on the roster. If there was a "do-over"...Boone would fall to 4th or 5th.

I also disagree with every other comment you made. Those other teams are not selfish...and they each have better 1-2 punches than Boone (especially NCC). You might want to strap on your seatbelt my friend because you are about to go on a bumpy ride if you are a BC fan.

First question, are you saying Sparrow is out for the yr? Secondly, since I know the family, would Bowling have even been a factor? I saw her play AAU and she was lighting it up and that was w/the National Championship team. Rumor was there was some personality conflicts and she never got to play.

I hope the Sparrow girl is alright, she is a nice player. I have to admit, I agree w/everything you said except that "they all have better 1-2 punches". I will take the Bradley girl and Behrens to start my team anyday of the week. I don't see any selfish players as they all compliment one another pretty well on each team mentioned.

Sparrow is practicing "lightly" and will hopefully be back to form this month.

Unfortunatley we will never know about the Bowling girl so no need to speculate what would've, should've, could've happened. She will be much happier in her new surroundings and that's what matters.

Thanks for the update. I don't know that she will be happier but at least she will be playing which should make her happy according to what I have been told.

Kids that are use to playing all the time and then have to sit usually don't make for a very happy person.:thumb:

good luck to the entire 9th region, I hope I make it home for a few good games

I may have missed it but where is the Bowling girl now playing?

She's playing at Beechwood.

Bubble still intact here! The list I gave was my opinion and I knew who was no longer on Boone's roster and I will stand by it.

But once the season starts it is always subject to change. LOL.

No way is there a better 1-2 bunch in the region.

The other teams do play selfish IMO. When a couple of girls repeatly take bad shots or like to keep it on fastbreaks no matter what the defense dictates, that is selfish. Names withheld for obvious reasons on who I think they are.

But we will see!

By the way where did Miller end up?

I am still going to have to disagree with you about the selfish play... I think there were some selfish MOMENTS on all the teams you mentioned but I don't think that those teams play that way all the time! - Miller, ended up at Anderson in Ohio.

Good things come to those who wait......right OBC?

Since the season is starting and there's no transfer, I assume the wait was for naught?

I always thought this was a rumor and said so early on. Now everyone can relax.;)

Top teams this year

Boone

HHS

Conner

NDA

NewCath

It will come down to what teams share the ball. The last four mentioned do not "share" very well. To many "I"s.

Boone even with the loses of Findley, Brassauex, and Sparrow(injured) still have Behren's and Bradley the best 1 - 2 punch in the region. Come tourney time they have 2 clutch players one outside, one outside/inside that will be difficult to handle, not to mention Sparrow should be at full strength and provide an additional outside threat as well.

Oh yeah they still have the top coach!!

Flatrock, how do you define sharing??? The Enquirer stats show two Conner Lady Cougars in the top three in assists lately!

Assists are subjective to the book keeper which is why the state does not track them. Every book keeper "can" literally see it differently.

All stats are subjective. That is why when you see teams with horrible records but have players in the top of the statistical categories, it makes you wonder what is going on.....:sssh:

I have seen 3 different people keep stats on the same game and none of them match up. Steals can be deceiving, rebounds aren't always just what you grab in the paint, and of course assists (some people give an assist to whoever passes the ball to the scorer, even if it is the in bounds pass from the opposite end of the floor). But what about turnovers? People always error on the low side there. Like a loose ball that ends up being a jump ball (even though it isn't called that anymore). It is a turnover if it goes the other way. An airball free throw is a turnover.

So all stats are subjective.....points are the only one it is hard to dispute....

I agree with what you say, but the state doesn't even recognize assists. It is why teams that are bad OR play cupcake schedules have great stats. Also, most teams have parents that keep the official stats. It's usually a must...BUT!

I agree that most stats except for points and rebounds are subjective. I do know that some coaches watch game film to compile the stats and don't rely on parents.
