9th region???

Featured Replies

Yes he has done a very good job at Ludlow but how can you possibly say that they are the favorite... way to much firepower with HHS, NDA, NCC, Conner, and Boone(even with a loss)... I do not even believe that you can say that they will be the favorite in the all A...

With that said i remember watching ludlow play bellevue last year and they were massively undersized do they have anybody in the middle this year

Let's not beat around the bush. Are you referring to Findley possibly giving up bball to concentrate solely on vball? If so, that puts Boone even w/the rest of the 9th w/inside players w/only having Katie Behrens left.

Cootyb-exactly right re: Bowling. She will not even be in school at Boone. I have been told her and her father have moved back to Ft Mitchell due to some friction at the current residency. Looks like Beechwood gets their outside shooter back.

So how does that work with the transfer rules?

That Ludlow/Bellevue game was ugly!

Yea I know that game was ugly but can ludlow really match up well with the big dogs in the region

Hard to tell Im not sure what most of the region has returning. I can say for sure though that Ludlow beat Bellevue every other time they played them last year.

Huh Ludlow has two of the bigger girls in the region in Hardin and Ottaway, and their other post player who isn't as tall as them is most likely going to be player of the year this year in the conference and one of the best in the region. Ludlow's strength this year will be their inside because inside they can match up with ANYBODY. It will all come down to the guard play this year for Ludlow on how they do against the bigger schools when they play them in the season this year. That game against Bellevue last year you saw had Ludlow going against that Merrit girl, and well not many teams in the region at all was able to match up with her because she was bigger than most girls on any team and thats saying something because as I said Ludlow has two of the bigger girls actually in the region... So I think you are very mislead there on Ludlow being undersized, because that is not true at all, it is actually their biggest strength is how big they are down low...

I guess I'm a little puzzled about the expectations for Lundlow this year in the 9th. They were beaten last year in the regionals by 17 pts by a team comprised mainly of freshman and sophmores. That starting five will be back for two more years. I agree the team improved, but do not see them as a region contender.

And that team in the region that they lost to is very good... If they are on there game at the end of the year it is going to be very hard for anyone to beat them

Conner high school will be adding to there height with a 6'1 post player that is moving in to the region. She is a in coming junior and started as a sophomore. She also was named to her all region tourny team last year. From what I am being told she can flat play inside.

Maybe BGP member IBALL could shed some light on this?

I sure wish I could Flatrock, but I am in the dark on this one. It may be just a rumor.

CHS won't have a lot of height, but we just got back from 15u AAU Nationals where we saw a team called the Mid-Atlantic Comets finish 4th in the Nation with only one girl over 5'8", and she was maybe 5'11". They played a swarming full court defense the entire game and scored in transition.

To me, height is overrated. If you play solid defense and box out, you can beat big girls with speed. By the time the Bigs make it down the floor, the ball is going the other way. Just my opinion.

There is a girl transfering to one of the smaller schools that IF declared eligible may give your Ludlow girl a run for her money IF she plays to her potential as she did as a 7/8th grader.

Interesting...Now I'm curious. Which school will she be transferring to?
